What a great idea...this way, lots of brilliant minds
May God Bless your entire family. I am hopeful that the truth will be known and your family will be together once again.
i am glad we there is actually intelligent people out there who can
see there WAS NO EVIDENCE AGAINST SCOTT! these JURORS were moonrocks or just chose to turn their heads. i'm appauled at them all and it's destroyed my belief in THE SO CALLED JUSTICE SYSTEM. i can only hope one day tjhe real killer is found and the people who accused and pointed fingers see what an injustice was done!!!! i grown sick of cnn and Nancy Grace!!! pleaseeee!!!they try everyone in the media now.. we all need to stand united and turn these programs off..........then they have to get real jobs! SCOTT!! MAY U FIND THE JUSTICE U DESERVE. god bless all of u !
I too hope that the truth comes out, but I can't say that Scott is innocent. There is a lot of important information conveyed on this site that seems to indicate doubt, but not having sifted through the actual testimonies -- I don't feel comfortable forming my own opinion on the matter.
What I do know is that our justice system is anything but just, and that there are innocent people in prison. Some of them even pleaded guilty on the advice of their lawyers. Either way, I think it's great that Scott has a blog now. After all, every voice deserves to be heard.
Conner Peterson's age exonerates his daddy.
I believe the verdict will be overturned, and he will be acquitted in a new trial.
I followed this trial from day one.
I felt and still feel that Scott is completely innocent. The trial was a media circus. Scott was convicted by Court TV, Catherine Crier and Nancy Grace and Gloria Allred and her daughter Lisa Bloom. Scott was a convicted man before he ever went to trial. I hope and pray that some day the truth will surface and set this man free. The only problem is that the Scott Peterson that went to prison will not be the same Scott Peterson coming home. I am sure under the circumstances Scott will come home a very bitter man and I think he has a right to feel this way. God be with the Peterson family and just hang in there and I am sure that justice will at last be served it is just a shame that an innocent man has to suffer the indignities of being in jail for something he did not do. This man has lost everything his wife, his child, his job and his life thanks to the media.
What great news. I was really hoping and praying that some good news would finally come of this.
We are still continuing to keep you in our thoughts and prayers. You have been through so much and it breaks my heart. We 100%, unconditionally believe in Scott and we pray for justice for him everyday. It makes me sick to see what the MPD is getting away with. This blog is a great idea, we are always here for you and you can count on us for 100% love and unconditional support! De
Having lived in the Modesto area of Stanislaus County back in the mid 70's near Downey High School
Some things which REALLY confused me are 1) why dump a body that far away (unless you belong in that area) especially when the Gallo vineyards are RIGHT THERE ... come on ... anyone could easily have plenty of time to dig a deep hole in well cultivated soil which could have been a permanant disappearance. 2) Lake Tahoe is closer and has 2 spots where there was no bottom found. 3) All the desert in the area - no place to get rid of a body? 4) what about all the bean fields in the Newman area? ANYONE from there would know that these places were easier to get to without detection ... and how convienient that they were publishing nationwide where Scott was when Lacey disappeared ... Go ahead and tell a murderer where to dump a body ... IMO as an observer this just does NOT fit right ...
Wow, there's so much information on this website. There is so much doubt in what happened..I never really paid any attention or cared for that matter about what happened until I saw the whole story about the trial on A&E. I decided to Google Scott's name and I came up with this website. My goodness...it saddens me that our justice system is so screwed up. I'll never understand our justice system...don't they have to PROVE without a REASONABLE DOUBT?
I hope that the truth really comes out. Unfortunately they had to make Scott pay for it...So what if he committed adultery? It doesn't mean he killed her....geez...Scott my prayers are with you.

Congratulations! Sounds like the judge has his sh** together.
Although I am not to judge what happened, I can only say one thing: CNN's coverage of Peterson story is disgustingly one sided. CNN and American media is run by conservative idiots who lynch everybody who doesnt' agree with their view.
Having been drawn to this case from the first announcements of a missing pregnant woman (probably because I had a similarly pregnant daughter expecting her first child, a boy, at the time), I was and still am, in shock at the verdict. There was absolutely no evidence against Scott Peterson. I consider myself conservative and feel that the news media for the most part are very liberal. They easily slant even the most innocent news story to make it more provocative and exciting. Their business is to make money with no respect for the fact that there are people involved in these stories. People whose lives are changed not because of something they did but something that was manufactured to sell a product and line the pockets of the few owning the news media. Although I firmly believe that Scott is innocent, I also feel that even if he was guilty the jury should have pronounced him innocent because the prosecution did not make its case. It is a bad precedent to make - the next innocent party could be you or I. We don't have to go too far back in history to see examples of this type of power being acted on. I would have hoped we had learned something from the past. It is very discouraging to see that we haven’t. We have to be very careful that we do not go over the line or allow anyone else to do it again. My hope is that this decision is reversed and that people have their eyes opened to the process by which it happened in the first place.
Oh, I am SO happy for you, Scott and your family. This is a wonderful way for all to read and communicate together to get your wrongful conviction turned around.
I agree with Daniel about about the media - we have just witnessed, like it or not, another media-fest in the Democratic primary contests. The media is controlling everything and we should all be afraid. I am so happy that the judge made the correct decision in your case. The truth will prevail, Scott. I think of you often - even when I don't hear through the computer. I Hope you are doing as well as can be expected. You DO have supporters out here.
Hello, Scott!
This blog is great, and you are about to be inundated with messages from your friends. What you have highlighted in your post could not be more relevant to your case. Everything you said and did was twisted to conform to the prosecution's theory. They had no evidence of guilt. Congratulations on the ruling yesterday. The whooping and cheering icons from your supporters would have made you laugh. Take care, Erina
I hope you won't be overwhelmed by those who hate Scott, posting their lamentable misinformation along with invective.
As for your first contention, yes, we hear all too much of that. "He dyed his hair", "He had a knife in his car", "He lied about sex" and on and on. Each fails the tri-test: (1) Could a man have a clean car and *still* have killed his wife? (2) Could a man have a junk filled car and still *not* have killed his wife? (3) Why is this case or these circumstances different? This test can be applied to all of the state's evidence to show its value. In a case where the state's evidence was, for all intents and purposes, non-existent, such nonsense gains an undeserved measure of importance in the eyes of the unthinking. However, the reality is that despite the contention by one juror that the defense case was "all smoke and mirrors purchased at a high price", it was the state's case which cost, as they admit, an astounding $11 million and yet was bereft of any inculpatory evidence.
Thank you for starting this blog! It's going to open up a whole new avenue for Scott, his family your supporters to communicate and share ideas about the case and the outcome we are all waiting for!
With Scott's first input in presenting People vs McCall, it's nice to see that in 1935, they got it right. The 21st century should take note that what went on then is just as important now. Even more so with the intrusion of the media and their biased reporting. I know many friends and supporters are looking forward to participating in the very near future with all of you! John and Robyn Ungari
I'm so happy we have this blog to share our thoughts about the case.
The bottom line is : The judge, the police, the prosecutors and the jury violated Scott's right to a fair trial. The jury totally ignored the judge instruction: "if the circumstantial evidence as to any particular count permits two reasonable interpretations, one of which points to the defendant's guilt and the other to his innocence, you must adopt that interpretation that points to the defendant's innocence and reject that interpretation that points to his guilt. If on the other hand, one interpretation of this evidence appeared to you to be reasonable, and the other interpretation to be unreasonable, you must accept the reasonable interpretation and reject the unreasonable." Briefly, The prosecution theorized that Scott purchased the boat as part of a plan to kill his wife. However, his actions surrounding the purchase of the boat tell us a different story. He bought a registered boat, he gave his correct name and home address, he stored it in his warehouse where Laci was seen few days before her disappearance, he searched fishing sites. On December 24, 2002, he worked at his warehouse, he went fishing in broad daylight at the largest and one the most visited marina in Northern California. Above all, he told the police on December 24th the exact location where he went fishing and it was checked out by the police. The evidence permits a reasonable interpretation that points to innocence: Scott was preparing to go fishing and did indeed go fishing on December 24th. Unfortunately, the jury rejected the reasonable interpretation that points to innocence. They adopted the unreasonable interpretation that points to guilt violating the jury instruction.
Exactly!
And the jurors started on the wrong foot mostly because of the media coverage. CNN and FOX NEWS convicted Scott on the day they started airing their stories. I'm Brazilian and had live access to those two channels and watched the whole circus from the day Lacy went missing. I was horrified that the media would have permission to publicly convict someone like that. If there hadn't been their ratings eager coverage Scott would probably be free right now. I wish to participate here and help in anyway I may. Ana
What a great idea!! Since many of Scott's supporters are unable to communicate with either him or his family directly, this is a terrific way to hear from Scott and his family!!
Kudos to Judge Beauchesne for his ruling in Scott's favor last Friday!! I pray this is just the FIRST victory with more to come!! Today and everyday...you are all in my thoughts and my prayers!
My prayers have remained with your family. Good luck to you and all your endeavers.
Its about time this guy got a fair deal..I spent so much emotion and energy during his trial that I alienated biased friends and family who thought he was guilty. I argued with my husband more than a few times because I thought Scott was innocent. I still support you 100 percent Scott
Congrats to the Petterson family and especially Scott! I always believe that Scott will be vindicated in the end and this is the starting of the end to this terrible ordeal that Scott and the Petersons have gone thru. Good Luck and best wishes!
Its a shame what happened to Scott! He was convicted because he had an affair.
Just because you might have an affair does NOT make you a killer! What PROOF was EVER shown Scott killed Laci and the baby??? NONE I believe Scott will be FREE again! ~~Good thoughts being sent your way~~
Scott,
I think you were wrongly accused and punished for this case you did nothing wrong and there was evidence to back that up but some one dropped the ball on this on and I hope that you will be set FREE!!!!! p:s Your Hot!!
My sincerest sympathies go out to you Scott, and your family. Unfortunately, in this world, affairs do occur ,and i myself had lied to cover my tracks. The marriage ended in divorce, however I have tried to put myself in your place. We lived in the Poconos in a small tight knit farming community and I am sure as the day is long if something were to happen to him back then,I would also be in your shoes.
People are so judgemental and lack the compassion or brains to feel that infidelity and murder are not connected in the least. I am a 43 yr old single mom and literally had to leave the county in which I resided just to give my children and myself a fair shot of starting over. Hardly comparable to the nightmare you your and your family must be enduring. My prayers are still with you daily and I pray for your imminent release. God Bless. Penny
I'm so glad this blog is up. This ruling I'm excited about, it gives Scott a chance! I want people to really look closely at this case, see how Scott was wrongly accused. May nothing but the positive keep going forth for Scott and the Peterson family. We cannot give up hope.
Scott,
I hope this finds you with a smile on your face. Congrats..finally! I hope to hear of more good news for you in the near future Thoughts, Prayers, and Support from the East Coast!
I hope you can get a new trial. Far to
much of the investigation was rushed . It has long been a fear of mine to be accused and convicted of a crime I did not commit. Good Luck!
Congratulations on the ruling Friday. I hope this is the first of many victories to come. The blog is great idea The truth will be known
You are so right. I pray that things will work out and real justice will be done. Scott is innocent! Let's support him and his family and be there for them and never doubt.
I am so happy that you have a blog!!! Now you will be able to see how many people believe in your innocence since day one!!! I am so happy you are having a new trial
You and your family are always in my prayers and thoughts and the happiest day in my life will be the day you will have your freedom back. Keep your head up Scott! God bless you and your family!
Alexsandra, Scott is on Death Row and does NOT have Internet access. He cant see this, unless someone prints it out and brings it to him.
Melissa, Im sure her comments and all others to Scott will be read to him over the phone or copied and mailed to him. After all this entire thing is for him isnt it? He is uplifted by the support from others and Im sure his mom and dad let him know all about the people and what they have had to say to him as well as about him and this case.
Hi Scott and Family,
I'm extremely happy to hear the good news. It's nice to see you finally catching a break. I've written to you as well as your parents a few times. Your parents are amazing people and I say a prayer for all of you every night. May God give all of you strength and continued hope for the future. This blog is a wonderful idea. I'll continue to stay in contact with both you and your family, and provide support as often as I can. Take care and God bless, Ana Mancini, Midlothian, Virginia
To the Peterson Family,
My prayers are with all of you. I can not imagine the hell you all have been going through these past few years. I can only hope one day you can live a somwhat "normal" life. I guess no one has taken the time to realize you all have suffered a loss also. Laci and Connor were/is your family too. Be blessed and know that no matter what, you do have people out here who care and support you. Sincerely, DDR
I am so happy for you Scott.I just know that everythang will work out.I will be praying for you.
I have been outraged since the trial started. The Peterson and family of Laci need prayer. I don't know how anyone could have convicted this man without any evidence. Someone posted on another site about this blog and it being hurtful for Laci's mother to read. The poster said she could rest at ease in knowing the only people that got exonerated were people that were convicted a long time ago when they didn't have the technology that is available today. Hello? There was no evidence to convict on, this was a clear cut conviction by the media and public. An actual old fashion public stoning if you ask me. It is ironic that a lawsuit is pending to keep Scott Peterson from making any money from his wife's death. The Peterson family has remained in the shadow thru all this while everyone who played a part in getting him convicted has profited or spotlighted themselves in the media at every opportunity most recently today CNN announcing that Laci's mom was outraged about this blog. The truth always comes out and justice will prevail. Yes, Scott Peterson I would have to say one hundred percent that you committed adultry but in the country we live in that shouldn't land you on death row. The real killer or killers are still out there possibly plotting another robbery where someone else might lose their life. I hope justice for you and your family, keep working towards that and it will happen. A break will come in this case, someone will eventually talk or brag and you will be cleared..
Hey Scott and Family,
Just wanted to let you know that I have followed this trial form day one! I have always thought and believed that you were innocent and that the Modesto Police Department set you up for and unfair and flat out wrong conviction. How anyone could do such an awful crime and set up the husband and to this day live a free life, and not have a care in the world, is beside me. I hope that person doesn't sleep at night and I hope that person rots in hell for what they have put you and your family through. I hope and pray that someday the truth will come out and that they will see that you were set up and that you need to be released. Your life has been turned upside down and you have been in prison way to long. Its about time that the truth comes out and you are set free. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and I know in my heart, you will be exonerated! Lots of prayers, Kim
Scott,
I've followed your case since day one, and I believe in my heart you are sitting on death row because you had an affair. I never saw the prosecution prove your guilt. And I will continue to support and follow you and your case. Always know you have supporters out here in the world. Take care, Cheryle
Hello Scott and family,
I also followed the trial with fascination as most of the country did. The only thing Scott is guilty of is not acting outraged over the allegations made against him and the strange ruse that he pulled with Amber Frey. Had he handled these situations differently he would be a free man today. Definately he was hung by public opinion which seemed to forget that in a fair trial more evidence than extreme circumstantial is needed. Scott's death penalty verdict was way too harsh for so little evidence. He really should get a new trial. Good Luck.
It saddens me at the thought of an innocent person sitting in a prison cell but it is completely heartbreaking that an innocent person could be on death row. Based on the evidence I believe that Scott is innocent. I believe that the defense did not have a fair say in the trial. Crucial evidence was not heard. How many months did the prosicution have to conduct their part and a matter of days/weeks for the defense. It should not be that way when a persons life is on the line. I 100% feel that he was convicted by the media. What about the two men that was dismissed from the jury. I am almost certain had they remained their vote would have been not-guilty. I always followed the case and will continue to follow up on any media coverage but most importantly I will continue to pray for Scott's release and that Laci and Conner may rest in peace.
This is wonderful news!! The ball is rolling and it's time to take this on. I have wondered for the longest time when you would walk away from this horrible nightmare you have been through. My heart goes out to you and your parents who have suffered more than I can ever imagine. Your parent's have never stopped fighting for the truth and your freedom and this could be the break. The police HAD to close this case, they didn't care about the truth. You have to and will come home some day. Just know that in addition to all the "haters", you have us, the people who believe in you and will support you until this is over. Check us all out on your blog... we support you, we know you are innocent and you are NOT forgotten!!
Melissa San Jose, CA
I too have argued with friends and family members over Scott's conviction. One must question how much the media coverage on this case had to do with his guilty verdict.
The only thing he was guilty of was cheating. Wow, so he lied to Amber about his whereabouts after Laci was gone. He lied to Amber from the beginning so why does it surprise anyone that he would continue to lie to Amber? I believe Scott is innocent and hope he is vindicated, however, the public will always think he is guilty. OJ had his DNA at Nicole Brown's murder scene and yet he was not found not guilty......yet he just now admits to killing her.....No DNA in Scott's case, so why did MPD not follow up on the Laci sightings? Good luck Scott!!! People believe in you!!
Dearest Scott,
Finally, some good news. I have said from the begining you are innocent. Lacey was an incredible wife. Beautiful, smart and funny. She deserves justice as does your child. God Bless you and your family.
I've always had my doubts about this case, it didn't take a genius to see evidence was being ignored, and the case appeared to be being mishandled from the start. I remember ranting at the TV when the news announced where Scott had been fishing, I stated to my girlfriend, "omg they've just drawn an X on the map of where the killer should go dump the body and it will guarantee Scott will be blamed! Even listening to the jurors in a documentary after the trial, they stated, "had the bodies been found anywhere else but right there then Scott would be a free man today!"
I don't pretend to know his guilt or innocence, but I do know I've never felt he got a fair shake in this entire mess. He did some stupid things, especially where Amber Frey was involved, and then having such a beautiful wife at home with a child on the way, that wasn't his finest hour either, nor was it a stamp of guilt either. I've been there before and didn't murder my wife, so that alone is just not enough. Once the news showed his fishing spot so early on I had no doubt the bodies would turn up there, it was just too obvious. What a blunder the police and news media made out of this. I wrote Scott in prison, I'm sure he gets tons of mail as I got no reply, yet I'm not convinced of his guilt, especially after seeing the documentary of the jurors, and now all the evidence, and mishandling of evidence brought forth via this web page. Personally I want to see another trial, a much fairer one where all aspects are completely investigated.
Absolute farce no evidence no how when or even why or WHO?? hmm.... but his demanour means he's guilty hmmm DOOOhh!!! the hair what hair the pliers no sign they were used? No proof she + baby was taken to mariner but somehow there 3 or so month later hmmm to easy!!!
Canga
I have been following this case for years and always read the email newsletter when it comes in. I dont know what happened, I am a law student currently and this case is just complex and well, in general, unbelievable. The prosecution NEVER proved its case. There was no evidence, no proof, no direct link, nothing. Only Scott, Laci and God know what happened, really. As far as the US Courts, they never proved this case, it should have been thrown out. There were no grounds to take it to trial at the beginning. Although I think its terrible for the guilty to go free, its even WORSE for an innocent man to sit behind bars. I just don't understand why its been this many years and STILL no appeal date!!
Hi Jen,
I don't believe only Scott, Laci and God knows what happened. In fact, I don't believe Scott knows what happened to Laci and Conner other than what we all know which is that they were murdered. But, there are other people out there who do know what happened though I doubt they'll ever come forward but for the sake of Scott, his family and Laci's family, I hope they are caught someday. No one ever paid any attention to the words that were spoken to the sexual assault victim "there will be a Christmas day murder"! I believe they know what happened to Laci and Conner and pray that God sees fit to expose them before they do it again! AND, they WILL do it again!
Hi Jen..
You stated that there was no evidence against Scott, why then do you think that the only ones who know what happened is Scott and Laci? I think the only persons that really know what happened is Laci and her killers. There was evidence pointing to others being involved in Laci's murder, Lt. Aponte heard a recorded phone conversation between an inmate and his brother about Laci's encounter with the burglars that burglarized the house across the street on the day she disappeared, they talked about the burglar threatening Laci. In addition, witnesses reported to the police that they saw Laci walking the dog that morning. So the evidence actually points away from Scott. Unfortunately, the police ignored those reports.
I hope and pray for a new trial for you Scott. That trial was fueled by a media mob and the judge and jury was certainly lacking in their interpertations of of circumstantial evidence. None of which was directly connected.
I remember the day of that verdict, the first person I thought of was Jackie and how my hart broke for her and I too cried for a long time. I pray as do many others that God gives you the wll to never give up. God Bless you all.
Scott,
I am so glad that you started this blog. Recently, I wrote to you about my experience in court when I was called for jury duty. After questioning me about the book I had been reading, "Presumed Guilty" and telling them that I thought you were innocent, I was excused as a juror. It was quite funny to be honest but goes to show just how closed minded people can be. Though I still write to you once in a while just to let you know that I support you, this is a wonderful way to be able to communicate, to let you know that even after several years, there are still people out here who believe in your innocence and want to let you know that you have not been forgotten. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers and I hope to someday be present when you are set free. I also pray for Laci's family, that they will someday be able to open their hearts and minds to the fact that there is still a monster/s out there who murdered Laci and Conner and I pray that they will be found and punished for they have destroyed many lives. I not only want to know how you are doing but your parents as well. I think of them often. Please let us all know how you all are doing. Take care and God Bless. Wendy
I as many others pray for your family and will continue to do so. God Bless you all.
Dear Scott and Family,
You have no idea how happy this makes us. We are from Florida and have been with you since ht beginning. This is a tragic shame that you are stuck in a situation that you had nothing to do with. Our prayers are always with you and we will send a donation ASAP. Deb and Charlie Bowe
I think that it is great to have some good news. I pray for you and your family all the time.
It will be great to see you as a free man and reunited with your family.
Hi Scott,
This is really good news for you and your family. I am from Scotland but was living over in Georgia when your trial was on, found it so one sided and it made me so angry; they had you marked as guilty before you even entered that courtroom. There was never that much coverage over here in Scotland but the people I have told believe it to be wrong how you were treated. I just want you to know that you have support from the opposite side of the world, and hope one day you can live your life again and enjoy the freedom you deserve.
To this day, I do not understand the whole thing. Juries are supposed to evaluate their decision based on forensic evidence or circumstantial evidence or both. And if the circumstantial evidence can go either way, which it certainly did in this case, it is supposed to go in favor of the defendant, which it certainly did not in this case. As I watched different members of the jury give interviews over the weeks and months that followed the verdict, I was appalled. The woman with the red hair who was so outspoken eventually revealed she was suffering from a mental problem. The jury foreman revealed that he moved out of town during the trial, which I understand is against the rules, and it resulted in him having to drive a long distance back and forth to the trial. Another member of the jury said that he was so torn up by the whole thing that he was only getting 2 to 3 hours of sleep at night through the whole trial. That is a medical problem that causes you to lose the ability to reason and impairs your judgment. No doubt the rest of the jury knew these things about these 3 people, and they should all have been dismissed as soon as their problems were known. It makes me shudder to think that if I were ever in a serious situation such as this, that a jury of people of this type would be judging my fate. There is something seriously wrong with that. And those are only the jurors that we know about. It doesn't matter what your opinion of Scott is, that wouldn't be fair in anyone's trial. There should be some checkpoint system in place by the court to keep a watch on a jury in a long trial such as this.
Carley,
As you can see the police, DA and of course the Jury not follow the rules. But the police and the DA also got promoted. This entire case made me sick, I can't hardly believe that the police, DA and as far as I'm concerned the jury, also got away with lynching an innocent man. My prayers are with the entire Peterson family, I'm also pleased to see so many people pulling for Scott and his family.
Congratulations Scott!
I'm a very big supporter of your's and have been from day one.I pray that this will be the start of your road to freedom. I hope you and your family know there are truly good people in this world that care about you and, what has happened to you. Please stay strong and have faith that you will have your life back. God Bless from Canada
Finally, you get your chance to be proven innocent!! I am happy for you!
I am hoping that all will someday, sooner than later, clear Scott and somehow find the true guilty partie(s) that commited the crime he was found guilty of.
I have had one small victory in my destruction which started in 2001. It is a small victory yet one that was of great consequeces to my life. It has also removed one of the unthinkable injustices and cruelty that I hope will give me the strength to continue to find justice in all that has kept me under so much attack and a near virtual prisoner in my own home as a result of it with no true liberty.
Scott this is a wonderful idea having a blog. Now we all can keep up with what is happening. Keep up the good work. People out here really believe in you and justice will prevail
A BLOG FOR SCOTT!!!!! THIS IS GREAT!!!
I just want to say that I have ALWAYS believed in Scott's innocense. I pray that someday, he will be free.
This news is only regarding his civil suit..is that correct? That is the way it is stated on the email or am I reading it wrong? They are still appealing his criminal case, which is pending until 2009..so this case is not going to free him yet..If I am not understanding this correctly please feel free to respond to me so that I have the proper information. Thank you
Dear Scott,
I was shocked at the sentence and felt that there was injustice done. Sometimes when definite evidence is not available and only the circumstances of suspicions influence the procecution, a decision to close and not have a 'cold case' is imminent. They needed a suspect who, through circumstances, would fit the crime, proven without any doubt, or not. I am most likely the age of your mother. A mother who's heart was and still is in agony. A father who unable to protect his son. Bless your parents. Woman do have a sixth sense and a lot of intuition. My gut feeling told me from the beginning that this was not right and often I thought about you and your parents. Your sister, I placed on a back burner, as I did not wish to allow myself any judgement. The media, as usual, had a frenzie and their judgement weight heavely. It seems that the media is the judge and jury. Influences of other attorneys and outside people who profited from your predicament disgust me. Hang in there, Scott, many people on the outside wish that you will be given a change to prevail. Kind thoughts, peace .. Isabella
The problems with this case, from a lay perspective, are myriad: the lack of a cause of death calls into reasonable doubt that a crime was even perpetrated; that the jury was not sequestered, thus compromising the admonishment against reading and listening to accounts of the trial, may violate the principle of the US-Shepherd ruling; and the lack of a history of violence and no prior convictions, make the sentence unduly harsh. As for capital punishment itself, since the recent Supreme Court opinion that affirmed lethal injection, more executions have either been stayed or commuted than carried out. As anti-DP advocates have asked: How does killing people who (allegedly) kill other people teach other people who don't kill people that killing people is wrong? This case represents the worst of the country's judicial system.
I have long felt that the condition of baby Conner's body is not consistent with the prosecutions case. He was fully intact with smooth skin and recognizable features when he was found by the shore. A badly decomposed uterus that was stretched thin due to pregnancy, and not even existent in some places does not "protect" a full term infant from the action of Bay waters and marine life for four months. The prosecution claimed Laci lost her head, limbs and all internal organs due to the action of the Bay waters and marine life, yet we are to believe the baby was protected by a flap of decomposed uterus? I think not, and I hope somebody will point that out to the jury in the civil trial.
To the Peterson family: continuing to pray with you for justice.
I have written to Scott on several occations and wanted to convey my thoughts on here as well. I believe in an amazing, big God that is in control of everything. He can and will take care of every detail of this case, the entire justice system and the world for that matter. He knows the truth and HIS truth will previal. I encourage Scott and the rest of yous to keep trusting and perseverancing. Praying that the truth be revealed, that God would open the right doors and close the wrong one and that the judges eyes would be clear to see exactly what needs to be seen.
Im looking forward to reading more of the blog. Congrats on the good news! God Bless! Christina
I also followed the proceedings from day one and had many arguments with friends and family over the merits of this case. While I agree that Scott did not use the best judgement in the way he conducted himself after the dissapearnce of Laci(providing lots of fodder for the media)it certainly did not in any way PROVE he had anything to do with it. If the MPD had spent even half the amount of money following other leads they may have found out what really happened to Laci.Just know you have LOTS of supporters who believe in your innocence, hopefullythe truth will come out.
Congratulations on the ruling in the civil case. The blog is a great idea. I have followed this case, as many others here, from the beginning. It is good to read the comments posted here and know that although the case is not currently the focus of the circus that passes for media coverage today, many have not forgotten this case, and there are still many people who believe that justice for you and your family in this case has yet to be served.
Hi Scott and family,
As you are probably aware, there are a bunch of us out here who are still trying to put the pieces of this case together in a logical manner which makes sense and which would shed more light on what REALLY happened to Laci that day. With this in mind, is there anyone within the family and/or legal team who is prepared to provide us with answers to some of our questions (if they know those answers). The limited information we have - no access to police records, limited access to the evidence provided at trial, etc. - leaves us with many holes. I'm not suggesting that we are better/smarter than your lawyers, however we have credible theories which we are unable to prove/disprove because we cannot access source material. We want to help in any way we can, and sometimes it drives us crazy because we cannot make any assumptions which may turn out to be false. If such a person/body exists please respond to this post. Congratulations on the ruling on Friday, may it be the first of many victories which result in you obtaining your freedom. Please remember that while most people are happy to follow along like sheep, those of us with independant minds and thoughts cannot and will not accept this flawed process and result. There may be more independant thinkers than you realise! I hope that this will help you and your family keep your faith in humanity and the justice system when things get tough! My thoughts and prayers are with you! Kindest regards.
Scott and family,
I am so glad to have read this. The trial was so unfair, and I feel so deeply that Scott did not do that. I told you in some letters Scott that I would always pray for you, and that I felt that you were innocent. Hopefully this will bring some light to you and your family. Please never give up, keep your head high and your beautiful smile gleaming, because one day I feel you will be with your family again. I wish so bad that you could return some letters, but, I certainly understand why you can't. You do have a strong support system.. You are so lucky for that. I believe in you 100%. When you are released maybe you can send me that return letter.. hehe"" I am not some crazy admirer guys,, I just know right from wrong, and I know that SCOTT LEE PETERSON DESERVES A NEW TRIAL!! FREE SCOTT LEE PETERSON!!!!!
Scott it really does seem like you got shafted keep on pushing for justice for you and your family.
Hi Scott, I just wanna say congratulations on the ruling on Friday. I have watched this injustice unfold, I can't began to understand what you have been going through, hopefully, things will start get better from here on out. As always, I wish you and your family the best, and like this other lady said, keep your faith in humanity, and stay strong dude.
Hi Scott, freedom is close, at last your innocence will prevail, justice for you is way over due, the justice that you deserve, take care.
I am glad that Scott is going to have at the very least a chance to have a civil trial.
Unfortunately his is not the only California case that was tried in the media. When are people going to get smart and realize that all of our rights are being violated and when these cases are handled in the manner they are, we are all victims of the justice system? Once you start following these cases and see a trend there is reason to be very concerned. Good luck to Scott and family. And may justice prevail for Laci and Conner as well. None of us want to see an innocent person in prison, not to mention death row...just so a case can be "solved."
From Angie's first post until now...look at the results! This is so nice to see...a place for Scott supporters only to visit and contribute and see their communications going straight to Scott and to his family.
No nasty comments, no hatred, and most importantly, no false information being circulated. How refreshing! To Scott, Jackie, Lee and the rest of his family........thank you for this and I hope you feel the love, concern, excitement and encoragement coming from these very real people who all support you!
Dear Scott,
I have always believed that you were innocent.Something inside me just told me that you would never have killed your son. I know that you cooperated with the law. I hope that everything goes okay in your second trial. They have a story on you out in our local paper(pjstar.com).Even people out here who do not know you sent vicious attacks. I am happy that your family has stood by you. Please just stay strong.
I'm thrilled to hear the great news!!!! Don't give up! I'm on the other side of the States, but I've kept up with this case and it was my thought all along that the way the police handled things were wrong. They focused in on Scott and didn't seem to try to look at other avenues. Scott and to your family, I wish you all the best, my love and support go out to you! I'm glad we'll be getting more information on the blogs. Just know your family has lots of support for you out here. Even in North Carolina! Love to your family, Kathy
The Peterson family have shown strength, love and above all decication to their son. I admire them for the strenght they have shown through the whole case. The media sealed Scott`s fate and that is not a fair trial. I do not believe Scott was guilty of this crime and certainly not for Amber Fry. He deserves a chance to show that the case was did not hold merit, the investigators need to show a crime scene, they had 3 with no evidence, whether it be eye witness or DNA.
This is a positive milestone for Scott and his family, finally they have a chance to have the facts show he is innocent, hearing this made my day! Lee, Jacki and Scott, finally a great decision and the next one is when you have the conviction squashed.
I'm very happy to see an interactive aspect of the website.
Many, many people with no personal connection to this case have spent countless hours going over the trial transcripts, evidence at hand trying to find that one piece that will open a reasonable person's eyes and say, "Hey, where's the evidence to show Scott committed this crime?" The injustice perpetrated by the Modesto Police Department and the State of California would be farcical if not for the fact a man's life is at stake. I'm glad to see people haven't forgotten Scott or the manner in which he was convicted.
Yes...ButterflyDragon, there are so many of us who have spent hour upon hour trying to solve this case (especially you!). I remember how sick I was over this verdict and I don't think I could sleep for months. YOU have the best list of suspects and unanswered questions in this case and I hope you're still sharing with the Peterson family! I'm ready to start doing my amateur PI work again and am praying that Scott will be vindicated soon. Sure wish I could be a stealth juror! June p.s. Miss you!
From day one...the media convicted Scott....he did not have a chance to prove anything because they made him out to be a monster....I do hope that they will find the real killer in this horrid crime...my thoughts & prayers are with you all...Good Luck & do not give up...
Hi Scott,
There were so many things wrong with this case - too many things to list here. From the lies reported by the media to the jury who decided your fate. I would say that the majority of the people who decided you were guilty did it based on what they read in newspapers or heard on t.v. Very little fact and too much drama and outright lies. The smell of bleach in your home is one example. Some people still believe that. The actual trial was said to be a big puzzle. It was actually a big fairy tale. The prosecution would state a fact and build a pretend scenerio around it. The boat is a good example of that. They used that to prove that the murder was pre-meditated. The boat was never hidden. The tapes should have never been allowed in. There was nothing in them to implicate you. I could go on and on. Many of us have put a lot of thought into this and have read the transcripts objectively. What happened in that courtroom was scary. Please know that you have many supporters. Take care, Danielle
After reading Presumed Guilty, I started looking on the net for more information.
I feel deep pain for Scott and his family. I pray for the Petersons and think of all of you often and hope that with the support of all of us who believe in Scotts innocents, you will feel that you can make it another day. Your in my heart and in my prayers.
My husband & I have always thought that you were wrongfully convicted. Everytime I drive by "The Shack", I think about you & Laci. It sickens me to think that there are innocent people locked behind bars!
Our prayers will continue to be with you. By the way...i've always wanted to mention something about the pliers. Both times when I was pregnant, I lost so much hair. I mean a lot of hair. I was like a shedding pet. Finding Laci's hair would not have been out of the norm if she was anything like me during pregnancy. God Bless you & your family.
Scott,
I've checked this blog every day and am amazed at all the comments being added. I pray that you are able to read them and reflect on each person's words of encouragement and support. And I hope they somehow bring you some inner peace that is probably hard to find in San Quentin. I've always believed in your innocence, and I always will. But the bottom line is, whether you're innocent or guilty, the prosecution NEVER proved your guilt. And for that reason, it's a gross injustice that you're even in prison, and especially on death row. I was lucky enough to get to tell my thoughts to Mark Geragos, and now I'm able to tell my thoughts to you, and it's incredibly satisfying, because I have argued on your behalf to so many people, and will continue to do so. Keep hangin' on, and know that there is a whole world of people supporting you and rooting for you!
Hey scott, I believe in you. Keep your head up. Everything in life happens for a reason. cin
I, too, have had many discussions with family and friends and have been told by some that I'm crazy to believe that Scott is innocent. I followed the trial very closely and felt the media created your guilt by portraying you as a dishonest and cheating husband. I was never convinced of your guilt and felt you were wrongly convicted. And then when they gave you the death sentence based on circumstantial evidence I was outraged!! I wish all these people that know you are guilty would read the book "Presumed Guilty". If they did I can't help but believe that they would wonder what really did happen and that perhaps you aren't guilty. I pray that someday you will get your appeal and a new verdict of NOT GUILTY!!!!
Scott,
I have been praying for you and your family everyday since your conviction and will continue to do so till your released!! Dont give up!! I am sure that God wont let you down if your innocent!! We just have to continue strong in this journey till we get to the truth!! God Bless you!!!!
Its AMAZING they can put someone on DR and have 0 evidence said person committed MURDER.
Look what happened to this guy http://www.trutv.com/library/crime/notorious_murders/not_guilty/scott_hornoff/index.html and he was one of their own. It does happen to innocent people but the goodthing about his story is hes now FREE and someday soon Scott will be telling his own story as a FREE man!
Hi Scott, Family and old friends,
Congrats on the win Friday! I always thought you had the argument on your side and I'm so glad you played your card. Given the venue, I don't see a win for you tho. However, that's not a bad thing b/c a) you get a retrial with no harm, no foul and see how other strategies play out with no downside as you are judgement proof. Any loss by you can be appealed for years. Now would also be a good time to hammer away at Amber's financial agenda as well as Allred's. I will go to my grave believing 100% that the judge violated his own gag order by allowing Allred to rant lies night after night with no opposition. She clearly intended to pollute the jury pool IMO as well as the seated jury. There is one TH show, (I think Catherine Crier, all I can remember is allred was on remote location) wherein allred blew it and stated she was agent for prosecution but quickly covered up by Crier. That right there should give you a reversal per se. In the alternative, you got the boat and the idiot jurors with their own financial agendas as well as prolly being the first jury in the history of juris prudence to overturn their own verdict by their own words the very night therein. Sorry for the ramble, just happy to see the justice system work for once. I am so anti-jury and hope you go for a bench trial when the verdict in the criminal trial is overturned. Best wishes to you and your marvelous family. I am so glad to see you have this interactive thingy now. (great word eh?:-))
Circumstantial evidence, which Scott has pointed out in his introduction, can so easily become FICTION. Let's hope the attorneys who are representing Scott in this new trial will be able to convince a new jury that Scott's conviction was based on FICTION. It was the product of wild, imaginative minds with no true facts to back it up.
I'm happy to see so many familiar names on this new blog, ones that I have made contact with on the many forums that have been dedicated to correcting the injustice of Scott's conviction. Our combined efforts can turn this case around and help to change laws that will prevent future injustices of this type. Good Luck, Scott, Suzanne Brucker
Suzzie, I wish there could be something we could do as well. I tell every one on the various forums that when Scott gets a new trial, all of the spporters need to go and show our support.
I realize this might be hard for a lot of people, but what the jors and everyone else saw was the ones against Scott, but if people saw Scott's supporters, they might have a change of heart. I also feel that if a lot of people get together and try to get new laws passed then it could make a big difference, but it seems so many people only talk about it, but don't try anything to help. If we can not get the media limited in what they are aloud to report, then perhaps we can get them to have facts before reporting anything. There were so many things with Scott's case the media was given were lies. For instance, the insurance. Brocchini told the media Scott took insurance out on Laci, but what he did not say was it was 2 years prior to Laci's missing. The media was told that Scott did not purchase a Christmas present for Laci because he knew she would not be there for Christmas, but the truth is, Scott did get laci 2 presents. The wallet was from him and the ring Laci was having done with her grandmothers stone. There is a lot more, but when the media was given these lies, the viewers hated Scott for this. I am working on my web page and have been for some time. I get busy and don't have a lot of time some time, but this past week I have been putting a lot of questions that I feel need answers an the books that people wrote during during and after the trial. Amber I know wrote hers during the trial. Sharon I believe also took all of her notes during the trial. All of this is on my web page.
One useful thing is to look for cases where bodies have decomposed in the sea. It is my opinion that Dr Allison Galloway's 'opinions' on this were incredibly wrong. Every case I can find proves over and over that her estimate was way off - that there is no way that anything more than a skeleton would be the result after 111 days. Unfortunately her very erroneous opinion colored the entire trial and led to wrongful speculation by all sorts of witnesses, including Dr B. Peterson.
Congratulations on your victory! Let the journey begin to set you free.
Scott and Family,
I am so glad to have a spot to show my support. I have never believed you to be guilty and still to this day, try to correct people on the facts when they bring them up. I try to read as much as I can to have a voice for you in any discussions that come up. I even have my "Justice for Scott" blue wristband I bought a few years back and my "Free Scott Peterson" t-shirt. I've just always felt very stong about my belief in your innocence. I'm very happy for you and your family with today's decision in the civil case. I hope this to be the first of many favorable decision for the defense. I wish you and your family all the best.
I'd like to ask Terri where she got the blue wrist band that says "Justice for Scott." I'd like to get one! Thanks!
Ok, my dad always said, "Be careful who you associate with. Believe me there are innocent people sitting in jail."
Scott, I believe you may be one of them. I was shocked at the way the case was handled. Stunned that the police allowed the media to virtually convict you sans evidence. Personally, I just don't think the senario the prosecution painted made any sense. When the jurors were bouncing on that boat? Oh well, that said it all for them. Good luck with your appeal. I'm praying for a victory for you and your family.
Hello Scott Gina in Missouri. (Rockaway Beach)
I am happy, I feel in my heart this is going the right way for you so far, lets have faith that our justice system works for the right people and they will do what is right in the long run. I also want to thank your parents who have sent emails often with updates like allot in here must be gettng. I hope your ok in there, be safe and strong, keep smiling and think positive, your very thoughts may turn reality and when you are finally released then you and your family can come out here and will go fishing (Gotta smile and have humor) because the darn Trout fishing is one of the best in the world ok so I had to add that, could have added a joke but it might be to much for some (smile) anyway I am keepin up on this here and there and that comes from an honest person. Take care Scott best to you from me.
I am so glad I found this blog. I've been convinced from day one of Scott's innocence. In fact, I've angered many of my friends and family members with that. I don't care though, I stand up for what is right. I appreciate you all, and I know one day the truth will be known.
I have written to Scott recently, and hope to get a return. He is definitely in my thoughts and prayers. Deann
Scott this message is for you, as I have believed the judicial system in Califonia acted with gross negligence themselves in what they have done to you. I have been going to law school for sometime now, and will finish soon. I have studied you case now for a couple of years and have several folders full of things I feel could help you in your case. If you or you parents would like them just write to me and I will be happy to give this I have to you or your parents in hopes it will help you. If there is any legal research or things of that nature you need help with from someone, please feel free to ask me as I would be honored to help you Scott. Thanks, Lisa
LISA OR WHO EVER MIGHT READ THIS LOOK INTO THIS CASE ABOUT SAME TIME OR AFTER SCOTTS TRIAL. A YOUNG MAN, SCOTT OR LACI MIGHT HAVE KNOWN HIM ,FROM ALAMEDA AND BERKLEY CLOSE BY WHERE THEY FOUND LACI AND CONNER. HE STAYED AT THE HACIENDA CASINO RIGHT OUT BOULDER CITY NV.HE CALLED DOWN FOR TOWELS WHEN THE LADY DELIVERED THEM HE KILLED HER, CUT HER HEAD OFF AND DISCARDED IN A SMALL LAKE IN BOULDER CITY.THEY FOUND HIMBACK HOME WITH OTHER PERSONS BODY PARTS IN HIS CAR.IAM SURE ANY ONE TRYING TO FIND OUT ANY THING WILL BE STOPPED.THEY SENT HIM TO LAS VEGAS TO STAND TRIAL.NOT ABLE TO STAND TRIAL.THEY SENT HIM OUT OF STATE. WHERE? DID HE HAVE A TRIAL ? DO YOU THINK LAS VEGAS OR BOULDER CITY WANTS ANY ONE ASKING? GOOD LUCK!
hi,
i would like to take the time to write to Scott, and offer my support. I just wondered if you could pass on his address? Thanks Gillian

There are many powerful appeal issues that support your effort to gain a new trial -- if not a reversal that attaches prejudice. I expect you to eventually prevail, for Constitutional issues abound and the required evidence is simply not to be found in the trial record.
Like Dr. Sheppard’s landmark case and his eventual acquittal, I expect your case to some day serve as a lesson-in-life as regards the sinister nature of circumstantial evidence and the false conclusions that it can and does produce. Among other lessons-in-life, parents teach and raise their children to be kindhearted, thoughtful and considerate of others. They also warn their children not to jump to conclusions. However, not all such lessons-in-life are accepted, and far too many children grow up knowingly abandoning their parent's teachings and warnings. In legal matters, they advance to ignoring our presumption of innocence standard as they forge ahead to unsupportable conclusions of guilt or, even worse, pretend that they know another person's guilt is true and certain -- when only the person and God could know that. While this may seem to be little consequence to some people, we will all answer for our actions after we pass on. And adding to the immense pain that falsely accused and/or wrongfully convicted people suffer is something that, I believe, God will require those who falsely condemned others to answer for. It's not like people don't know that it is wrong and hurtful to do so; they do. We were all brought up and taught to know better. The problem is that many people just don't care if they add to the immense pain some poor soul suffers in a case such as yours. Even worse, there are some people who simply feel good about kicking another person who is lying on the ground and being beaten by a mob. A truth of life is that no raindrop ever considers itself to be responsible for the flood. However, when people are finally called forth to face their redeemer for having willfully partaken in one or more floods, the fact that so many other people did the exact same thing will provide them no shelter. Because they knew it was morally wrong, ethically wrong and wrong by the standards of our society. Yet, they did it anyway, often with great relish. I believe you were wrongfully convicted. I also believe that some of the jurors knowingly ignored the lack of required evidence and/or cast what they thought would be a crowd pleasing vote. I offer the simple reflection that we all will be required to answer for our wrongs.
Hi Wudge,
Great post! I think the media is the root of the problem. From day one, they embarked on a character assassination mission demonizing Scott Peterson. Sadly, most people were brainwashed into believing that Scott murdered Laci. I do agree that Scott will prevail in his appeal. This case is the ultimate travesty of justice.
Hi Scott - just like in writing to you I have questioned posting a message on here. You have wonderful supporters all around and wishing you the best of luck. Keep your head and faith up and trust that all things will work out for the good.
Scott and The Peterson Family,
FINALLY something positive for all of you. My prayers and thoughts continue to be with you daily. I hope this will finally be the opportunity you and so many of your supporters have been waiting for...the truth to finally be heard. Much luck, love and hugs to all of you.
Scott,
I am so relieved to hear good news. The waiting has been edifying though. Many who care and have a balance of head and heart hope that America's moral compass can deepen so that those individuals who bare the responsibility of injustice in word or deed will confess, change their heart, and find a mind that promotes respect for truth. Systems must change and people must change if we are to move on to a greater country. It will have to be fought.
I look forward to the day when the truth will be told about the dishonesty of the Modesto police detectives, the prosecutors, the media, and the jury. Scott, I know that the truth will set you free.
I continue to support you Scott. I hope you and your family are well.
I followed this case when it was in the media and I have always believed you were inocent. May God bless you and your family and see you through all of this.
Hello Lee, Jackie, Scott and Loved Ones!
There are many of us that have been all over the web, on forums, writing to public newspapers, discussing the facts of Scott’s innocence at our places of work, school, church and many other public places where people will listen. There have been many of us in hopes when trying to research facts that this may be the one that helps set an innocent man free. We have been through the trenches along with you fighting for what all of us truly believe in, being that of Scott’s innocence. We can only continue to hope and pray that the outcome of what we believe in will have the ending of what so many of us desire. You have become in many of our minds a part of our families. There are so many supporters such as John and Robyn Ungari who make this cause a big part of their lives in becoming an advocate for Scott’s innocence, and bringing more people closer to the truth. One by one they gather more believers because of their motivation to get the word of his innocence out there. There is something I feel that is important to say as well. In all of this there is another lesson to be learned for all of us. Lee and Jackie you have raised a family that has shown the world that you are a true tight knit family. The bond of your family is phenomenal. There is not a family that I have ever known to pull together in such a time of crisis and kept such dignity while being attacked. Through your actions you have taught other families that no matter what is in store in life you can conquer difficult times through love and bonding. I applaud you. If only the world could take a portion of your teachings and utilize this in life…..the world would be such a better place. I am here for you for whatever you may need. If there is anyway I can help please call on me. As I said….you have become a part of our families. I wish you all well and continue to pray for you. Hugs to all of you! Diana Freer
Scott and Family,
Good Luck and Best wishes to all of you. Scott, I hope to see you walk free soon as I never believed you committed this crime. Godspeed, Nina
I don't know how to respond to all of this. Scott, while I wish you were innocent and none of this ever happened how can I have blind faith in your innocence? Help me understand your innocence because everything points to the contrary.
To the family, I pray for you.
First: there was not even the slightest hint of evidence that Scott was guilty - none. The state spent $11 million to convict him and the media added about $100 million more. Still no evidence. See http://tinyurl.com/65fvud for why there was none.
Second, there are 18 separate pieces of evidence which show who really killed Laci and why. See http://tinyurl.com/6d3g4a for those items - each of which proves that a woman killed Laci and Conner. Believe facts, not media nonsense and the howling rage of a bunch of self styled commentators. The facts are solidly on Scott's side.
I think it's safe to say that none of us are claiming to have blind faith in Scott. What we have is a very deep, clear knowledge of the case and the facts, and we've all formed our opinions based on what we've learned.
If I thought for one second that Scott is guilty of this crime, I would still have an issue with him being in prison today -- because the Prosuection never proved their case. However, because of the facts I've learned, I honestly feel he is innocent. And I encourage you to do research also, and you will learn the same things we've all learned. And you will be able to see clearly that he did not commit this crime.
Hello Tike,
If you are truly interested in learning about the Scott Peterson Case you can go to ScottIsInnocent.com. Most of us who are making comments here have done extensive work exploring Scott's guilt or innocence on this website. The forum no longer exists but the information is still available. You can read Presumed Guilty by Matt Dalton who was one of Scott's attorneys early in the case. Another good book that can help you see how an overzealous police department can convict the wrong man is The Innocent Man by John Grisham. It is non-fiction. It will give you some good insights into the judicial and prison system in this country. I hope these great reads will help you see how Scott could be innocent and still sitting on death row. Suzanne
I have followed this case since one. I never believed Scott was responsible for the murder of his family. I kept hoping someone in LE would come forth and help this family out by saying something positive but I guess no one wanted to do the right thing and speak out.... I find it hard to imagine not one person who worked on this case had any second thoughts or doubts that Scott was not responsible. Scott fully cooperated in the beginning until he was treated as though he was "guilty"...hmm...I thought we were all innocent until proven....
There was NEVER once scrap of evidence found in that Covina house to indicate a soft kill/hard kill took place. Scott's computer never showed any type of history for looking up anything related to murder. I do not believe for one minute Scott awoke one day and decided to kill his wife. I'm in the background watching this case and praying for justice for Scott & his entire family. Good Luck and I hope this time around....you win this battle. Everything written above is my opinion.
Scott, I just want you to know, my thoughts and prayers have always been with you. I have all the confidence in the world you will be free one day and the sooner the better.
I have never believed you commited this crime. The media and Modesto Police department convicted you before you even had a trial. I believe in you 100% and I will always support you! If there is anyway or anything I can do to help you, please let me know. Hugs and kisses to you! Denise
Will Scott be able to see these blogs? Does he get a chance to have some internet access to see the output of support?
I am not sure if Scott sees this blog himself. But I do know one thing for sure. I know that his family does see this blog and they let him know how everyone here is pulling for him.
psychic-Laura, I do believe you are correct.
I hope more people will see this as well. The juror's did not get to see or hear of all the people in support of Scott. I really don't feel that it would have mattered because their decission was made long before the trial was over. The media are the ones that played the a big role in Scott's getting convicted, but they were also fed lies by Brocchini. I read the book the jurors had written and it was clear to me they had a hate for Scott. I myself have a lot of questions. I hope there is someone that can answer these questions some day.
You are right Lee this was a big farice from the beginning it was all wrong from the medi and the Modesto Police from the beginning. This case has frightened myself and my family in realizing that this unjustice happens to aften. We can hope and pray that it will turn out alright but it will never be alright because so much damage has been done and and the murderer is still running free.
Scott,
Just a little note to let you know, that I am still praying for you. Don't give up! It upsets me that people took advantage of your letters and tried to make money on your expense. Now you can't answer letters, and at a time like this I know it would make you feel good to be able to correspond with your support team, such as all of us. I am hoping one day that you will be able to sit down and express your feelings to someone you can trust. It must be hard to hold your feelings in because of someone accidently hearing you and misinterpreting your words. good luck Scott. keep the faith .. Lisa
Well first off i want to start by saying THANK GOD!!! I have personally watched this case since i first heard about Laci gone missing, i must say that i have done alot of research on the case myself, and i honestly think Scott that you are INNOCENT!! in no way or form do i want to disrespect the Rocha family, but you were convicted from the media from the get go, There was not a single piece of forensic evidence against you!! I pray to god that you are exonerated asap, you were convicted of having an affair, thats it!!! I HAVE WRITTEN TO YOU IN PRISON AND NEVER HAD A RESPONSE, ALSO HAVE DONATED MONEY,I WANT TO HELP YOU SCOTT
If Scott is not able to access the internet (and it would kinda surprise me if he was), maybe his family prints our messages and takes to him so he can read them himself. It would ease my heart a little bit to know that he himself reads all of these messages and is able to "connect" with all of us who have believed in him since the beginning.
For all of those out there who still believe he is guilty, I truly encourage you to do some research on your own. Look it up on the internet. Go to the bookstore or library and read some of the books. There is LOTS of info out there to educate yourself, because when you do the research, you will realize, like we all have, that Scott is not guilty of this crime. And if you believe in the criminal justice system at all, you have to believe that one day he will be free. Scott, if you get to read this, I've always fought for you, and I always will. One day we will all come celebrate with you in sunny CA! And won't that be a sweet day ...
This message is for Mr. and Mrs.Peterson
I would do what you are doing and support my son till the day I was gone. I know he is innocent because YOU both stand by him stll to this day, and I can see what kind of family you are and I know you have confrounted your son to tell the truth and that no matter what you will love him. Scott at this point has nothing to lose he's lost everything, Laci and the baby, thats losing everything so why lie..he tells the truth. I pray for all of you.
I've watched this case and my heart goes out to all of Your family. This case so much reminds me of Eric Volz case where a man was publically demonized to the point that justice for him didn't matter. Yet that happened in another country with a subpar justice system, supposedly. I have discussed this case around friends and work and still see the same type of stonewalling found by people who just dont want to see the truth, there is no reason to have full faith in law enforcement. So I can see how easy it must be to poison a jury. I now know why news articles hit the stands right before jury selection and I dont doubt this will happen during the civil trial.
10yrs ago my cousin was sentenced to 5yrs in prison because a drug addict falsely said he sold him weed out of my grandmother's Lexus. They kept the Lexus too. He used to run hip hop shows that strongly irritated the police and they even shot bean bags at one of his outdoor party because they stood between the parking lot and the patrons when they ordered it ended. We're law-abiding citizens but I know what it means not to trust the police. I believe in God and that he uses people to teach lessons. I hope he is using Scott to show that no matter the rules, if people dont follow them and stay honest this will happen. I hope he is using Scott to show the dishonesty in the CJS and this could happen to any one of us.
Scott,
I understand on a very small level what happened to you... I am now the same age as you, but when I was in middle school, my Mom was charged with a horrible crime AND convicted in the press. She had been a public figure and members of the media had a very personal axe to grind with her. When she was charged, before ANY investigation occured, the press had convicted her. It ruined much of my childhood and it ruined my family. My Mom was not put behind bars as you were, but it almost is like she was. It happened 15 plus years ago and she is really not able to function. She doesn't leave her home, in fact MANY days, she doesn't get out of bed. So, I do understand what the media and press can do if they decide you are guilty. Because I feel like I can relate to you, I have read EVERY book about you that has been written. I can't believe you were convicted without any evidence. The press decided you were guilty and that was it. Something has t be done about this, and as long as people like you are in prison, this country is an unjust place. I am so sorry for where you sit, Scott. I think about you often. Mandy
In Canada, England and Australia, even though they have much freedom in the press, it is illegal to discuss a case in the media until AFTER the trial. As much as I love all our freedoms here in the USA, I would like to see us adopt this limitation on the media. It may never happen because it would require an amendment to the Constitution but with public pressure we can force the media to be more responsible and do some serious self governing. All these posts we make are a small beginning. We can write letters to members of the media every time we see them acting irresponsibly. We can write on blogs when we see someone being convicted before there is a trial. It happens every day. We all like to write and express our opinions. That's why we are here helping with Scott's unjust conviction. We just need to keep up the pressure. The written word is very powerful. We can make a difference.
Suzanne, the media is about the only one of the ammendmants that was not broken. Not taking a polygraph test should not be held against you, but it is, Scott had every one of his right stripped from him before he even went to trial, this was not aloud, search warrant illegally obtained, clear harrassment by Brocchini, lying to the press, and so much more illegal doing in this case, but it never stopped the law.
The media should wait, but your right, first ammendmant does protect them. It would have helped had they been given the truth to report on instead of lies.
Dear Lee and Jackie,
Please consider a new blog to let us all know how you both are and how Scott is doing. I would like to know how Scott feels about our comments. Does it help him to know that he has so much support from strangers he's never met? Are the comments we post passed on to him? I know I speak for many when I say that it would mean so much to get some personal feedback from you about what we all have to say. So many of us have spent countless hours going over the court transcripts, donating, fighting with family and friends and lost many a nights sleep just trying to figure out a way to help. Thank you for all of the updates regarding the case but on a more personal level, for those of us who genuinely care, please post a blog about how you all are doing. You remain in my thoughts and prayers as does Scott. Sincerely, Wendy (excused as a juror because I said that Scott Peterson is innocent!)
Good post Wendy. Jackie and Lee I agree that a more personal blog would be great for all of us who have hung in there with you for so long. Just like Scott needs encouragement, we need it too. It keeps us researching and fighting for justice.
Thank you, Annie
Suzanne said: "I would like to see us adopt this limitation on the media. It may never happen because it would require an amendment to the Constitution but with public pressure we can force the media to be more responsible"
The Constitution provides a right to publish. The theory that 'the public has a right to know' and that this trumps the rights of the accused to a fair trial appears to be invented and not based in law. As for a responsible media, with a few rare exceptions (and those almost all in the print media), most reporters are incredibly lazy and barely intelligent IMO. Couple that with the profit motive of the media owners and you have a system which hardly meets its own constitutional claims and which is driven almost entirely by sensationalism, by repetitive patterns for stories and not by any originality or honesty.
I would like to know more about how Scott is doing with his appeal, and his general welfare..
I believe he is innocent, and NO matter what he was convicted with minimal evidence! What happened to beyond a reasonable doubt, i am thinking that NEVER was the case. I hope Scott stays strong and my thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. Good Luck and God Bless
I would also like to know how Scott is doing in San Quentin.
Is he able to read our comments, and if not, does his family print them and take them to him? Is there anything specifically that he always needs that those of us who want to contact him can send to him? (I know he likes books, but we don't know what he likes or wants. Things like that.)
Scott, I know you didnt kill Laci or Connor and you hang in there guy!! Hopefully the appeal will bring reasonable magistrates who will see there is no evidence to convict you and it will be tossed out, compeletly!!
Hang in there Scott. There are many out here who believe you are innocent and want to help.
Dear Jackie, Lee and Susan,
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and feelings with all of us. We all knew you were special people and I am so sorry for all you have had to go through. God is holding you all in the palm of His hand and will continue to carry you.
Dear Jackie and Susan,
Thank you for updating us on how you are doing. I am so glad that we all have a place to share our thoughts and well wishes. Throughout this tragedy, life goes on no matter how hard it is to sleep at night or to get out of bed in the morning and I can only imagine how hard it must be for you all to go through this nightmare. I just pray that when this is all over, Scott will be exonerated and the real monsters will be exposed and Laci and Conner will at last be able to rest in peace. I also pray that it won't be too much longer before justice is served and that somehow, with the love and support of you all that Scott may one day look back on this and see that nothing happens by chance. Whatever the reasons are, we may never know but just know in your hearts that God has a plan for all of us and life, no matter how hard it gets is worth living. Keep your chins up and always look to the future. I just know that it holds something very special for all of you. May God be with you all, Wendy
Although I do respect the ideal in a jury trial, I do not agree with the format that lay people should sit on it.
In Nationally publicized crime such as this case was deemed by the media, and pushed by the media for ratings. The defendant is prosecuted not only in the courtroom but on television, radio, and newspapers.
Charlie-Ma is right on when he says, "The defendant is prosecuted not only in the courtroom but on television, radio, and newspapers" except that no other defendant that I can remembered was tried and convicted the way that you were Scott before your case ever went to trial. Our prayers are with you and your family that truth will prevail.
P.S.Your mom is one super woman. God knew what he was doing when he put you in her life and care. You are blessed.
Scott & family..
I watched the entire trial and was amazed that anyone could be convicted with ABSOLUTELY NO EVIDENCE. I've been a longtime subscriber to the scottpetersonappeal.org site, and I really hope you are able to get a re-trial, along with a FAIR jury this time! Stay Strong!
To Scott & Family,
I wish you a speedy re-trial so that you all may get back to being "normal" again. I know times have been hard, but keep your head up high, your minds open, and your prayers strong. Good Luck and God Bless!!
Hello Scott and family,
Is there any news yet, I know by what I've read the new trial was to have started July 8th, How is it going, is Scott doing ok? I hope all is well goodluck. Bless all of you. Lisa S NC
I would like to say that I firmly believe Scott will get out of prison one day. I can't even put into words how I felt that day that verdict came in. I mean, what? Seriously. Almost 4 years later, I still believe he is innocent.
Everytime this case is brought up, I am one of those who stands up for him. I've argued so many times with people, and I can't believe in the country we live in, people really think he did it. I watched his trial every day, I have been researhing since the day of his conviction, I've seen everything reported on tv, and I feel so bad for him. Since before this case, I've been outraged of wrongful convictions, in this day and age it looked like it was getting better. Which don't get me wrong it is, but let me tell you, when this case came around, I'll tell you what I hope that I never, I mean never have to go to trial for anything. I tell people all the time, these people who try to argue with me about his guilt, if you were on trial and had no evidence against you and you got convicted, I would love for you to tell me he's guilty again. People don't understand that could be you, sitting on death row for nothing. This court system that we have the so called "best system in the world" it doesn't work. This jury and for that matter this judge or even the detectives in this case, they all are just appalling. If you had 100 trials and 12 new jurors everytime in this case, no media coverage, and no circus inside that courtroom, my prediction is all but 1 jury would acquit. And lucky for the cops and prosecuters in this case, they picked that 1 jury who would convict. How convenient! When the cops make up their minds about something it seems alot of times they go with it. And that's it. They made most of this country believe that Scott was guilty and on what, what factors are there telling you he's guilty? This is the number one question that no one I've ran into can answer. It's kind of funny, actually. Think about it, most people in our country believe he is guilty, but seriously go ask why they think that. You'll be amazed, most answers I get are "he just is" or how about "he looks guilty". Really. That makes someone guilty, huh! Wow. I will never forget the day that 3 jurors did and interview and I believe it was the foreman who said, "If those bodies ended up anywhere else, Scott would be a free man" something along those lines. Really. That's all it took to convict someone. My thoughts are with all of you, I wish you all the best of luck. Sarah MI
I have to admit my opinion has changed about this case after reading the information on this blog. It's amazing the misinformation that is out there. I hope you get a new trial on appeal.
Scott got a raw deal. The saying "lifes unfair" applies to this case. If the judge says this is a petri dish for appeals, whats the delay? Let him out to prove his innocence. He should not even have to do that, but at least give him the chance;. I know Scott, he did not do it.
I belive that scott is inocent and im glad that there r people out there helping. I thinks this blong is a great idea.
keep your head and chin up scott! you will be exhonerated...Im sooo sick of our justice system putting innocent people on death row! show me the evidence people! show me!!!...more and more people are being exhonerated because the justice system does not work!
I've followed this since the first signs of the apparent media circus hit the airwaves here in NJ. My heart broke for both families, especially all parents involved. Being an adulterer should not equate to a death sentence. A divorce settlement with you standing in the middle of the street, with nothing left but the clothes on your back - yes. Death sentence - no. I never agreed or understood how the evidence presented could have lead to a guilty verdict. There was enough reasonable doubt to make this almost a textbook case for a not guilty verdict. I believe that the unbelievable horror of the crime, the sadness that was felt like a thick cloud all over the US, the adultery that angered so many, and the simple fact that most people wanted SOMEONE to pay for this crime ... are the only reasons Scott sits in jail.
My heart still breaks every time I see Laci's beautiful dimples. Such a beautiful life cut so short. Much love and strength to everyone involved.
The two items that always catch our eye about this case is "Media" and "No Evidence". Those are the two words that sum up the whole case----and yet there was a conviction. The media intrusion was and remains the single most important turning point and "tool" in how police and prosecutors can spin a case. They have zero interest in the premise of "innocent until proven guilty". As a result, after long delays and suffering, the list of wrongfully convicted being freed is getting longer and longer. We are not surprised.
I don't want to paint all police with the same brush we do the Modesto Police but what they did in this case is deriliction of duty at its worst. So many leads, so many witnesses but they could not or would not take their blinders off long enough to investigate. I don't know that we can ever stop the media or the publicity hounds, but your exoneration will set the world on fire and do more than any other case in history in exposing what role the biased media played. When that happens and it will, the MPD will be forced to look at their MO and revamp their whole department. Maybe the chief of police will write a book that outlines how NOT to investigate a muder. Same old story Scott, we know, but so relevant to all of your suffering. Hang in there, stay strong and take comfort in all of the posts coming your way and suppoting you and your family.
I don't really have any room to comment on your case either. I can only sympathize with you having to deal with the incompetence that is the Modesto Police Department.
Lest we forget how they let their own DA walk after finding ample evidence of drunk driving and a hit & run incident.
I don't know if you are guilty or innocent but GOD does. God bless you all.
What happened to when, why, where, who and how? None of that was proven. If you went by the evidence they produced than Scott would be a free man! It is a fearful situation when some innocent goes to death row.
Is there some way to obtain a wish list of books from Barnes & Noble that Scott would like? There is a way to set up an " Wish List" account there- perhaps an account for him with an open password, where we could see what he wants and if it has been purchased for him might work.
Is there certain genres he likes? I'd like to provide him with some reading material he would enjoy.
I have followed this case from he beginning, I have felt his innocence since then! The only thing that the Modesto Police Department has proven is they are incompetent to do their job! I have no idea what went on in the court room but from the evidence that was provided to me on the Peterson's web site it was clear that SCOTT IS INNOCENT! Free this poor man from jail and lets find the real KILLER! Also just because he had an affair doesnt mean he was capable of killing his poor wife! I guess if Hillary is found dead we must balamb Bill! Oh wait no he is famous so he will be set free just like OJ! Its just us poor middle class citizens that are found guilty when WE ARENOT!
Your family and Scott are in my prayers!
keep strong scott and your prayers will be answered we love ya
I can remember the day the trial started and how it all went i had faith that they would not CONVICT on the evidence they had nothing that said SCOTT did it but nothing proved else wise, at the same token the spouse is always te first they look at, i feel they had no other leads so they looked to the one thing that was close to her. I never knew that cheating consitutes murder at that telling the "other" person you were not married. It worried me i was married at the time and i remember looking at my husban and saying I hope if something every happened to me that you never lied to me cuz you just may be convicted.... But all in all who is to say that he did this unspeakable act or some one else did the truth needs to be known... a man that may have not done this is facing death and i hope the people who convicted him can sleep at night knowing that there is a 50/50 chance they were right.... it is very sad that someone could do this to her i felt so bad but i also dont think that it was right to put a quick fix to the issue at hand what happened in that courty room made me feel worse knowing that there was no logical evidence against him i feel for both families.....
I followed the trial from day one on court tv. If I were on the jury I would have had some bought about scotts guilt. I think we all know justice is based on how much cash you have for a fast talking lawyer. I hope the truth no matter what it is comes out and before it is to late. Peace be with you and lucis family too
Dear Scott,
I hope that you are being strong and that you have found some peace in your life. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. It is my hope that something turns up and you will be able to be released. That is bound to happen someday soon! In the meantime, take good care and know that there are so many people who have your best interests at heart and who are praying for a rightful outcome of this extreme tragedy. Good luck to you, Scott and may you find peace. Sincerely, Kathy
We followed this case from almost day one. How could we not? It was the only thing that Greta and her Merry Band of Pundits would cover from day to day - - we got sucked in, like the rest of the country.
We remarked to one another during the investigation, the arrest and the trial how unjust it all seemed. Scott was convicted in the media.. the police, prosecutors and jury followed like sheep. By the time it was announced that Scott had the affair with Amber - - that was pretty much the nail n the coffin for him. Some of his behaviors were cold and we'd look at one another and say "Maybe this guy is an a**hole - - but he's no murderer." They (the prosecution) didn't prove a thing. Every single thing was circumstantial and we just cannot believe they would give the death penalty without proving 200% that Scott did it. It was a very sad, dark day for our justice system.... as a society, we should all be outraged. We just don't know -- maybe Scott did it? Maybe he had something to do with it? Maybe Scott is completely innocent? The fact that NONE of those questions can really be answered 100% beyond the shadow of a doubt means that, at the very LEAST, he should not be sitting on death row. It's an astonishingly scary thing to think a person could be sentenced to death in this country with ZERO physical proof and speculation! I'm sorry for Scott and his family. To Sharon - - I know full well the pain of seeing your child sit in jail while the rest of you (you and your family) try to go about normal, everyday living. You feel like you shouldn't enjoy life at all, because your son is unable to. It's painful and it's a daily thought in your head.. anytime you make plans, enjoy small things...even very small things like making dinner or taking a walk - - he is on your mind and you feel guilty. I know it well. I'm very sorry for you and your family and hope, wholeheartedly, that your family finds the justice that is due!
Scott,
I just want to say that I pray you have found peace and strength in your life as you remain on death row. I followed the trial very closely and was convinced as the trial was underway that you were guilty of the crime. Please accept my apologies, because after reading more of the facts I know that you are innocent. It is a pitiful shame we live in a country where you were convicted by the media and you were found guilty without one piece of solid evidence. Know what? God has put you in this position for a purpose and you may never know the reason why but stay strong, look to the Lord and in all your ways acknowledge him- and he will direct your path. I pray daily for you and hang in there! Freedom's coming!
it is Maddening to see Unsubstantiated Rumors Deciding Unequivicle guilt Regarding this man Ending up in jail Ragardless of the truth.
Its funny how CNN does an interview to Laci's mother to try to let the world know that its not okay to commentate on this blog. It seems like if Scott was ever re-tried, he is already convicted again due to incompetent media outlets!
German supporters not welcome???
wishes to Scott from Cologne, please let him know, I´ll write him to Quentin. from Köln, Germany Jue Busch
Hello
I'm from Switzerland, I also had the chance to follow the trial. As far as I understand, the American Justice System is a complete joke and scandalous. The accused's right to be innocent until proven guilty doesn^t exist. All the media convicted him from the very beginning. This literally makes a fair trial absolutely impossible. This human right should be granted. Furthermorezhe conviction was not based on facts, but on indices. Scandalous. In my country this man would be free based on the facts.
Anyone who reads through the case file and goes over evidence, has to wonder how they found Scott guilty. There are so many things that do not add up one bit. The thing that gets me the most it the string that was somewhat wrapped around Conner with a bow tie. What happened to Laci and Conner is horrible, and I really do believe the police wanted to solve this crime fast and put the blame on someone, insted of ending up with a cold case. It seemed from the beginning that Scott was guilty.
I just can not understand how a man can be convicted in this country, especially to death ....without concrete evidence. It scares me to think that this could be any one of us. Where is the DNA??? Where is the murder weapon?? Where is anything?
What about an identical murder that happened a year previously, found in the same place?? Why was that circumstance pushed aside in the investigation? What about the girl who got raped and tortured in a tan van just like the one seen across the street from Laci & Scotts house the day of her dissapearance? What about what she had to say about the satanists whom abducted her?? Did she not state that those evil people had said "Wait until they see what happens at Christmas??" What happened to that in court?? What happened to the satanist woman that pawned Laci's watch? To me.....this whole trial was a horror and discrace. They sesationalized Scott's affair to bury him. Just because he had an affair does not make him a killer.....otherwise.....1/2 the men in the world if not more are murderers. My heart goes out to Scott and his family. I will be praying for your release if God knows your innocent. Bless you all.
You know I always thought of Scott as a killer, until my girlfriend was reading some articles & showed me the evidence. I can't believe it. I really truely dont think the world has ANY and I mean ANY idea about the case, other then the lies the media made. Most of it probably came from the affair, but come on. I really think the Peterson's need to make this more public then it is. Get people's minds working and looking at the case. My girlfriend talked about it with other family memebers and they had no idea that the website exsisted or what the REAL evidence was. I think that Scott treated poorly. Petersons- please let us know what we can do to help. Scott shouldn't have to wait that long for an appeal, death row appeals can take years.
You know, I was watching "Lock up" on msnbc, and they had a Office on there talking about Scott, he said something like, Scott gets along great with the staff, but doesnt have any inmate friends, and other inmates want him dead. And it was almost like the guard was smiling, like Scotts a good person, I dont think hes guilty he doesnt fit it. Wow, you would think if Scott was a killer and a bad person that he wouldn't get along with staff, like this Office said. I believe Scott is innocent.
The one thing I did find fishy was that any time anyone on the jury even acted like they were going to challenge the evidence (in deliberations) or even in actions during the trial they were gotten rid of and quick. I have never heard of so many jurors being dismissed and replaced. It was like they were weeding them out as the trial went on, only keeping those that were sure to convict. Too wierd. I would challenge that fact on appeal for sure!
I believe the poster above (#141) is right. The jury misconduct alone should be grounds for appeal. That alone coupled with the fact that there is no evidence should exonerate Scott. Have you actually read the trial transcripts? This trial was a joke. I guarantee that you and anyone with any common sense would agree that Scott Peterson is factually innocent. There is no way that anyone with half a brain would have convicted him unless persuaded to do so, and I do believe they were persuaded by the media and ultimately the public. And as Judge Delucchi (RIP) stated about this case being an "appellate lawyers petri dish", it is my humble opinion that Judge Delucchi also caved into pressure. In one breath, he makes the above statement and in the next he sentences Scott to Death. Makes me wonder about the first amendment, freedom of the press...sounds to me like they're getting away with murder, and we're letting them. Just my opinion...
The first juror that was eliminated admitted in an interview "that so far he was not convinced Scott was guilty" The next lady had her own opinion, and was rejected. The most blantant example was the third juror, the lawyer/doctor/jury foreman, wanted to look thoroughly at the evidence and was literally ostrasized by the rest of the jury and thrown out. It was so obviously railroaded that it frigtened me to view our justice system on its worst behavior before the whole nation and nothing could be done to stop it. Also have you have ever read the book "We the Jury"? If the appellate Judge needs proof of jury misconduct, they only have to read the book. This jury got drunk, partied and danced around before they chopped off the head and watched it roll. Very archaic. This jury displayed many mental issues. Frightening. Delucchi was very much in on it. I believe that the Judge ""understood"" nudge nudge wink wink, that all those not "acting correctly" would be "reported" and he knew his role was to throw them out. Do not be fooled, legal entities (I'm a paralegal, believe me) read each other and like clockwork work in synch to get the outcome they desire.
I had no idea this blog existed until I watched Laci's mom on LK show....on youtube of all places.
Anyways, after reading much of the evidence and REAL facts about the case on your site, I truly do have my doubts here. The press took us down a path, where Scott was convicted before the trial even started. I followed this entire thing, with only hearing what the media wanted us to know....as is evident by much of the information I have just read, that I never knew existed. I never thought there was enough evidence to convict Scott...and I still think he will win his appeal based on the boat demo where the jurors were rocking the boat....alone. The sad thing is that the police everywhere are far too concerned with closing a case and getting recognition than they are with actually solving the case. Yes, it dawned on me, the very first day I had heard on nationwide TV 'WHERE" Scott went fishing, that they just blew this case. Never in a million years did I expect him to be found guilty... The Juror Instruction is also an area where I think the appeal sounds hopeful. How on earth the jurors could have come back with the guilty beyond a reasonable doubt after listening to the Intruction is wayyyy beyond me??? BUT, I sat on a jury once, I know how unfair the process can be. Please keep us posted...things do have a way of working themselves out how they are meant to be...
I was never convinced either way whether or not Scott did this or not. What concerns me is the fact that there COULD be an innocent man, not only in a prison hell hole, but on death row. God help us all if that is the case and the fact that there may be a cold-blooded killer walking around among us.
Peace and God bless both families
It makes me very happy to read all the goodhearted things that are so supporting to you Scott and your family.
Keep up your tremendous strength Jackie, Lee, Scott and family. Your all such a loving and close family it makes me sad that this horrible tragedy happened. What I do have faith in is that Scott you will win your appeal. You should! I have never seen such a circus media, lynch mob demonstraters and just downright mean rotten people before, during, and after your trial. There was NO evidence. None at all! But the fact is I don't care what these ignorant people may think or say. I just want to see you Scott, a kind and decent man get treated the way our forefathers set up and wrote our constitution. It seems to me that Lady justice was removed entirely from the "scales" in your case. Time will pass and you'll be out Scott, reunited with your wonderful family. I'm pleased to see this new blog. It's a great idea. I'll always be a strong believer in your innocence and always a strong supporter. Most Sincerely, Ally
Dear Peterson Family..
I have followed this story from the very beginning. I have always had mixed feelings on the truth. The more I read, the more confused I become. I honestly in my heart of hearts, do not believe that Scott is guilty for this crime. I am aware that your family has had many misfortunes. It is truly a shame for a single family to endure such hardships and pain. You are truly correct in saying the media and LE "hand picked" what the public was to know of evidence and this whole story. The only thing that has been proven to me is that Scott had an affair...it is in no way proof that he is a murderer! I just wanted you to know you have yet, another suporter out there. My thoughts are with you..Wish you the best of luck.
i believe that scott is innocent, i have read as much as i possibly can about the case i have read defence papers and i have read procecution papers and other articals surrounding the case and it is just all a bit of a mess, it just all doesnt make sense to me whatsoever, i think the police thought that they better accuse someone of the crime because they are under pressure and they look a bit silly if they dont and its not fair on scott, and what makes me mad is that they twist things, for example, if i am correct, people became suspicious of him because he was being distant, 2 the cops it being distant means killing your wife and unborn child, 2 me it means being fed up of the media sniffing around you every where u go, cops constantly on your case, everyone suspecting you of murder, and on top of all that the stress of your wife going missing, i could go on and on, i htink anyone would wanna be alone for a while,
all that i can say is is i wish scott all the best katie, (in england)
hey scott! keep your head up! more and more deathrow inmates are being let out because of wrongful conviction and one day, you too will be released...keep doing your work for your appeals...
Why is that a person such as Brian Nichols (this is the man who did the courthouse shootings in Atlanta) gets life in prison for something that he did- something that was on video tape and yet Scott is on Death Row for a crime he didnt commit? Why is this? Why is our justice system so messed up?
Scott-Afetr reading both sides of this mess I must say you are living a nightmare! I don't see how they can convict you and all while you lost your immediate family, your in-laws and all your childhood friends and aquantences that you had known all your life that ASSUME you are guilty. Godspeed my Brother....Praying for some miricle that will "fix this"--Mike
To Lee and Jackie:
I hope to God this nightmare comes to a end for you and your family. I have surfed the web and read every book I can about this case, as well as watch the media talking heads. They vilified your family and made Scott look like a "monster" without any direct evidence to link him to this crime. I am ashamed that people actually believe everything they read or watch tv. I am a cynic and wanted to believe the worst in Scott, but they never said anything that proved his guilt. And there are so many actual facts that prove his innocence. This case reminds me so much of the Sam Shepard case, where the media and public opinion convicted an innocent man, without any proof whatsoever besides innuendo and downright lies. I just want you to know that you have supporters out there. I support justice for Laci and Conner, and I hope Scott's appeal can finally open the doors to finding the real killer. I actually believe the killers will be the burgulars that terrorized the neighborhood Laci and Scott lived in. They are more likely suspects than Scott ever was. May God bless you both! Even though Scott might have lost his freedom, he should not lose his voice! Good luck i your quest for justice!
after watching the trial up here in canada were i live and reading the blog and getting to know the peterson family , i believe scott is totally innocent
There are so many comments I would like to say about this case. I never believed for a minute that Scott was guilty. I kept waiting to hear evidence but there was none. I kept waiting to hear about who investigated the location where she was actually supposed to be but there was none etc..etc..
I will always think that Amber in some way had to play a role in this, I do not believe this was random at all. I guess if I want to make any point on this board is not only can this happen to you or a loved one but it IS happening to our loved ones. Wake up America~ Sending people to prison is a business in this country, states receive funding per conviction on both sides. Public Pretenders do what ever the state tells them to. You have no rights and no representation period nor do you have a recourse unless you have the mega-money to hire tops dogs which isn't going to help either. I have watched many people go to prison in the past 2-3 years and it rips my heart out. Young, old rich, poor, black, white, they do not care. The biggest percentage are under 24 years old. 24..and they qualified at 17. Makes you sick doesn't it? We treat our animals better than we treat the people in this country. Take away parental rights then blame everything on the parents and when they hit 17 send them to prison. When bad things happen to people like Scott, I like to think there is a reason for what happens and someday he will get his justice. I welcome the day that I can turn on the news and see him, walking out of jail and standing up for other people like him who were wrongfully convicted. Keep up the faith, pray like there is no tomorrow as I pray for you and your family. No one can ever understand the pain you are going through unless they have walked in your shoes. I wear the same pair btw... I admire your families loving conviction of standing by Scott, shows strong family values don't you think? Gob Bless you all. NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER-CONVICTED BY GRACE...Nancy Grace
Our legal system is very messed up. For one thing no one should be on death row when it is only circumstantial evidence. How many more innocents have to be discovered before they do something. I can't even imagine losing my spouse then being charged with the crime. With that said Amber Frey taints my image of Scott, but cheating is not murder. Good Luck I hope you get a new trial.

Scott & Family,
I hope and pray for both the lost of Laci and Conner and Scott freedom and the pain in which all those who love and support these two family's . I feel that the courts will over-turn this Jury verdict they did not follow the judge instructions on weighting the evidence. The media and the public bashing of Scott during his trial and the conduct of the jurors should be enough grounds but not always true, the wheels of Justice is slow yet will prevail God Bless.
very troubling that law enforcement today are crime writers. They write the script.
Amber Frey had the motive, Laci and a baby stood in the way. Was Laci given a tip off to catch Scott in a compromising relationship. And did the response to that tip take Laci to the spot where she was murdered????? |
