I had seen an article this week on a man who was wrongfully convicted of rape and released after 18 years in prison. I thought it would be a good article to share in our blog so to find it, I Googled 'rape, 18 years'. The first article below is the story I had read about. Unfortunately I found that there have been at least two other men in recent years exonerated by DNA after spending 18 years in prison for a rape they didn't commit. Their erroneous convictions were, in part, the result of false eye witness testimony, incomplete DNA screening, and inaccurate hair analysis. Scary trend. It makes me wonder how many innocent people (like Scott) are in jail that don't have DNA to exonerate them.
