WOW what great news. Our family would be glad to help and we will be sending you a check ASAP. We had a bit of good fortune of late so please accept my apology if we exceed the $50 maximum contribution you asked for
I know a few other people who I've told about Scott case and I'll hit them up for a few bucks. They are not wealthy but every dollar helps. I would hate to be the guy from the State that has to go up against Cliff. What a weak, dishonest conviction they are going to have to justify.
Yes.... I will be sending some more money in shortly and I will encourage everyone to do the same. Fifty dollars is just not enough of a sacrifice for me, I will be donating a little bit more as well. Scott has sacrifices way more for justice and we all need to do our part.
An innocent man sitting on death row just doesn't sit right with me.
Good luck Peterson family. I will be pitching in, I believe Scott is innocent. Keep the faith!
We have sent a donation of $25, we would love to donate all that we have to help exonerate Scott but due to our child's autism therapies it is not possible at this moment.
We will continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers and we 1 million % believe in Scott and know he will be home soon. Please continue to be strong and fight hard, we will be here fighting right along with you and will not stop until Scott is Free.
It is great to hear the appeal can now finally move forward. We always felt Scott is innocent and it is a shame he has been put through so much over a stupid fling. Every time I turn around another politician is admitting infidelity. I don't know what the jury was thinking. This was a murder trial with no evidence! Stay strong Peterson family. We will also be pitching in for justice!
I was recently reading about the case and found something worth posting here. It pertains to the LAW and why Scott Peterson should be a free man.
Proof Of Insufficient Evidence To Support The Verdict Proof beyond a reasonable doubt was needed to support the jury’s finding that the killing of Laci Peterson was a first-degree murder by Scott Peterson. Jury instructions defined the necessary murder-one elements that must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt; i.e., willful (intended), premeditated and deliberated. Moreover, jury instructions also defined the necessary element for second-degree murder; i.e., malice aforethought. In whole or in part, proof of premeditation, deliberation, intent and malice aforethought must be based on inculpatory evidence. Standing alone, corroborative evidence (consciousness of guilt, flight, dog evidence) is not sufficient to prove premeditation, deliberation, intent or malice aforethought. An analysis of all possible sources of inculpatory evidence shows there is no inculpatory evidence the jury could have used in reaching its finding. An eyewitness can not be a source of inculpatory evidence in this case, for no eyewitness testified at trial. A confession can not be a source of inculpatory evidence in this case, for Scott has always maintained his innocence. Time of death can not be a source of inculpatory evidence in this case, for there was no testimony that established either the day or the time of Laci's death or Connor's death. Place of death can not be a source of inculpatory evidence in this case, for there was no testimony that established where they died. Cause of death can not be a source of inculpatory evidence in this case, for the medical examiner, Dr. Brian Peterson, testified it could not be determined. Neither a crime scene nor forensic evidence from a crime scene can be a source of inculpatory evidence in this case, for no one testified that a crime scene had been found. Given that the above sources were void of inculpatory evidence, the only possible remaining source of inculpatory evidence would be motive. On December 14, 2004, a juror, Greg Beratlis, took part in Larry King’s TV show on CNN. During the show, Larry King asked Greg Beratlis the following question. ”KING: And what do you think his motive was?” ”BERATLIS: You know, Larry, I think if we all knew the motive, if there was this one thing that stuck out, we'd probably have the answer to the whole thing.” Greg Beratlis' "if/then" statement conditions deduction. Greg Beratlis, himself, is included in "We". At the very least, motive was unclear in his mind. For motive to have been used to support the jury’s first-degree murder verdict twelve jurors had to agree. Greg Beratlis proved that did not happen, which proves the jury reached its verdict absent motive. Having eliminated motive as a possible source of inculpatory evidence, there are no other sources of inculpatory evidence that could have supplied evidence of premeditation, deliberation, intent and malice aforethought. When all sources of inculpatory evidence cannot be the source the jury used to support its finding that premeditation and intent were proven beyond a reasonable doubt, then of logical necessity, the jury’s verdict either had to rely on impermissible speculation or had to be fallaciously derived. Based on insufficient evidence, the verdicts should be reversed with jeopardy attached.
I would like to say that I was pleased to learn of the latest news on Scott's appeal. I have been interested in this case all along and at times consumed with it. At first I couldn't understand how a human being could do this to another human being and then it turned to curiosity once it went online and now it's because I have read up some on this - in particular the evidence of the robbery and the bodies that was ignored. I feel that Scott was found guilty based on emotion rather than fact and that if it can happen to him it can happen to anyone. At least now maybe the scales of justice will be equal.
I was shocked when Scott got convicted, but later the comments and actions of the jurors proved to me they were indeed brainwashed by the media sensationalism and voted with emotion rather than logic. People need to realize the manipulating ways of the media for ratings. It's very dangerous to the justice system.
I wish Scott the best of luck with his appeal.
I plan to donate next week. Thanks for keeping us posted. Your website has been a real eye opener.
I feel so badly for Scott and the Peterson family. I do feel Scott will get a new trial. I can't donate right now but I will when I can, and you have my full support. Hang in there Peterson family!
I saw the news yesterday that Scott's appeal is moving forward. You have my full support, Scott never should have been convicted. There was no evidence he killed his wife.
The wheels of "justice" grind slowly, but grind on they will. With this appointment,a forward motion is in place and can't be stopped until Scott is home where he belongs.
You will have our support as always and know how many people are behind you in this effort as well as ALL efforts to see Scott free. Like so many others, we too will be sending in our donations to the cause of freeing an INNOCENT man and his family from this torment and hell you have all been through. You have never been alone and you never will be.......... God bless you all.
Gosh...I don't know what to say...this is awesome!!! Keeping Scott and the Peterson family in my prayers!!!!!
LynneS
Stay strong Scott. You have a lot of people pulling for you and anyone who really knows the law knows the conviction was wrong. There was no evidence, there was plenty of reasonable doubt.... the jury must have been in a media haze. It's a shame our country allows the media to control public opinion on criminal trials. People are like sheep.
I just clicked my contribution. Everyone, it's more than six years since this abortion of justice began. If somehow we can pool our collective resources, Scott may stand a better chance than those others who are also victims of an unjust system, but who don't have the corps of support standing with Scott and his family.
You GO Peterson family! I was so happy to hear the news about Cliff Gardner. I will be pitching in!!
This blog and your website have given me so much information, thank you! I had no idea the trial records were online.
I believe Scott is innocent. I am praying for all of you!
Just wanted to let you guys know that I never believed Scott was guilty in this case throughout the trial. Even though I'm not able to support you financially at present, when I am able to, I will be happy to do so. This whole case was an extreme travesty of justice.
OH MY!
We are not alone friends. According to the "poll" conducted on a "major" internet provider over 40,000 people have a doubt about Scott's role in Laci's death. It was awesome to see that they also had a link to a People magazine story from a few months ago stating that the while most death row inmates had their walls covered with pictures, Scott's cell contained only a single picture with he and Laci. Is their anyone who can think he did this in the hopes that many years later it would be reported? I'm disgusted that so many people, who know so little about this case, were offended by Scott's siblings asking for help in obtaining a new and fair trial. Thank you Peterson family for reaching out. The check is in the mail.
hello,
I too believe this trial was a travesty. I cannot donate at this time but, can I submit something that has always bothered me? The audio of Amber Frey's messages from Scott, which were ALL supposedly recorded by the police, listen carefully to the very first message. On the audio, whomever is recording it, actually selects the phone option to ERASE the message from the phone messagebox! Incredible, and, I doubt the police would want that message erased. I believe Amber recorded the messages, and had been as soon as she discovered Scott was married. If I was an attorney, I would have wanted to know WHO was playing back the messages, and WHY they pushed the button to erase he message.
I was not convinced Scott was guilty, yes he behave like a cad but I believed people have different ways to grieve or relieve stress, having a girlfriend outside the marriage is wrong but not against the law, furthermore it was wrong from Ms. Fry to profit from this tragedy, yes he lied!! but murder I'm still debating, I will send a donation as soon as I can, I am against the death penalty anyway
I HAVE NO MONEY TO GIVE YOU, BUT FROM THE VERY START, I ALWAYS BELIEVED SCOTT INNOCENT ALSO. I WILL PRAY FOR YOU AND THE FAMILY, AND MOSTLY FOR SCOTT. IF HE IS INNOCENT, IT WILL BE DISCOVERED, AND I BELIEVE HE IS. WHAT A SHAME FOR HIM TO SIT ON DEATH ROW, AND INNOCENT. I BELIEVE WHOLE HEARTEDLY GOD WILL INTERVENE FOR AN INNOCENT MAN. PRAYING FOR YAW. RAMONA FROM MISSISSIPPI
I watched things unfold from day one and the system that has lacked justice for so many many years convicted not on evidence but media mania. Jesus too went through this. The man did absolutely nothing wrong but was killed by fear of men that did not want to lose their ruler ship. Scott soon you will see the brighter days and if you accept the sovereignty of Jehovah God the days in prison will be erased and you can live on a paradise earth with Jesus ruling with his 144,000. You are blessed with a wonderful family and if you get to Know Jehovah God (psalms 83 :18 the justice will come sooner than realized. I will pray for you and your family that your freedom is expedient.
take care and keep strong vindication will come.
Back in early 2000 I wanted to buy a house and I thought Modesto was a great place to buy. I saw this great house that a realtor showed me and he said be careful of gangs that are about three blocks down. I always remembered that. The house was so cute but the thought of gangs scared me so I thought better of it. I always believed that Scott was innocent and wrongly convicted. The reason why he was the only one looked at as to have done it is because he was the husband (I guess a good bet by the police), and because to of the way Scott was not over emotional the way society says you have to be. My heart goes out to Scott and I will when I have some money give to this cause, because I know in my heart he is innocent and I know that Laci was kidnapped. I will pray for Scott I dislike Ms. Fry to the core. Never would I give money to anything she has to say or write about. I won't say the words I would love to say to her. God bless you Scott and your family.
I would like to say that from day one I never thought Scott was guilty. Yes I got it from both ends for thinking this way but ya know, there was just to much finger pointing in one direction from the start. That in its self is a bad investigation. The police seemed to want to wrap it up to quickly. Yes Scott had an affair, many married men do. Personaly there was more evidence in the OJ trial to convict then there was in the Peterson trial. I am sorry for both families greif in this matter and hope Scott is able to have a new trial and prove his innocence.
I don't usually post comments to news stories online, but after reading some of the reactions from people concerning the recent news in Scott's case I felt compelled to come here and comment.
It is obvious that many people are ignorant to the facts in this case. It seems to me far too many people rely on the media to tell them what they should think, and unfortunately for Scott he became a media target from day one. The more the media demonized him the more the ratings soared. Most people don't stop and consider they are seeing and hearing small snips of information that can be manipulated to send any message the writer/reporter wants. Take for example the highly circulated picture of Laci in a red outfit sitting at a party not long before she disappeared. The media outlets cut out the bottom of the picture showing her shoes, which had high heels. Why? Because they wanted people to think she was having trouble walking. There were countless other manipulations. With all the media brainwashing, Scott never stood a chance. I encourage everyone who has doubts about this case to read the court documents. You will see there was never any evidence, only cynical speculation. I wish Scott and his family the best of luck, and I will be donating.
It's a shame that so much is needed to prove innocence when guilt was never proved in the first place.
Count me in as somebody who will be supporting your family.
Good luck Scott. I always felt you were innocent. I hope your appeal will move as fast as possible and you will be home where you belong. I also hope the evidence your team has uncovered will bring the real killer(s) to justice.
Stay strong. You have a lot of support out here.
Great news! You all have my support.
God bless the entire Peterson family!
I didn't follow Scott's trial. I was out of the country for a few years and very busy working on a project. I admit I assumed Scott was guilty based on what little I've heard in the media the last year. This recent news caught my eye so I visited your website. I have to say I am now convinced Scott is innocent. I am quite shocked he was convicted, or even arrested.
I hope he will prevail in his appeals. Bruce
I was never convinced he was guilty, And would love to see him proven innocent. I too would spend every last cent and minute to help my child. I wish nothing but good luck to your family.
I will definately be sending in a donation. I was brought up to believe we were all innocent until PROVEN and not guilty right off the bat.
I followed this case from day one. I had my doubts at first but when information such as the trial transcripts became available; I read them thoroughly and came to the conclusion Scott was/is INNOCENT. I hope someday when Scott is a free man - all the people in his path that ruined his name will be sued for all the blood monies received for using his murdered family as a means to make $$$$$$ Good luck Peterson family. Don't let the negative people/comments get you down.
Stay strong Peterson Family! Justice will be served someday & then we can all rest again. I hope Scott is being treated fairly because he has gotten a raw deal. My support is on the way & the check is in the mail!!!!
This line from the Peterson's letter is worth noting again:
"If you have ever thought about donating in the past and were waiting for a time that your gift would make the biggest impact, then this is that time." Scott is Innocent. And it is time to prove it! Everytime I read a hate-filled rant on other sites, I am inspired to give more.
What wonderful news! We support Scott 100% and are so sad that he has to grieve the loss of his wife while fighting for his own. We anxiously await the day he walks out of there and can live life again!
I never even knew this site was here. I am so glad the local news did a story so I could find out about it.
You have my full support. There is no way Scott is guilty and it's about time that his appeal is moving forward so he can get the heck out of there! You have my support all the way and I will send in my donation today.
I am sending in a donation too. I know of a lot of groups that support Scott's innocence and will also help out.
Times are tough, that's for sure. But nothing can be tougher than sitting in prison for a crime you didn't do. Hang in there Scott and family. We'll all pull together to get you the money you need to get to the truth!
What a great idea of a letter Peterson family. I guess it's easy to forget that all of these kinds of things aren't easily paid for and it takes help to get to the truth. Especially when the state of CA paid what, 4 million to convict Scott on no evidence whatsoever???
Justice costs money I guess, especially when the state blew a wad on the wrong guy. You have my support and that of my family.
I have to admit that I was a guilty almost from the first day but I can no longer hide from the truth. I know you are innocent now Scott and I am sorry for being one of the crowd in assuming you were guilty. When I finally took the time to read all of the testimony, I realized that so many things I assumed were the truth were in fact not. How could so many lies about you go unnoticed? Why didn't the press at least check out the truth and print it? You deserve a second trial and I will do what I can to help you all out. It might not be a lot of money I send all at once, but I will send it reguarly and it will all add up to a lot to help you. Thank you for this site and for educationg me.
I have a great idea. How about if all the people who wrote those books about you and Laci pitch in 10% of what they earned on her murder? I have seen some other sites where people who think you are guilty are all saying they won't give you any money. Did they say this when they bought all the blood money books? I don't think so.
It doesn't matter though. I think there are enough good people around who know you are innocent and would be glad to give what they can to help you. I'm in, that's for sure and so will some other people I know. Good luck to you buddy.
There will always be ugly people who say ugly things without any motivation at all. If you have been exposed to some of these folks, don't let it get to you. You have as many supporters, they just don't all have big mouths and big egos and have to go blogging 24 hours a day. We're the quiet ones and like you said, many hands will make light work. I will send in some money and more after that as I can. Stay strong and thank you for this site.
Something drove us to follow this case though I can't explain what it was. We fully expected Scott to be found not guilty and when he wasn't, we thought what a tragedy this was. It was easy to go back to our day to day lives as demands of raising kids and working always took our time. But the other night we saw a story on the news about this letter of yours and they gave the web site.It made me come here and I was shocked to see this web site has been up for some time now and I never knew about it. It jolted me back into reality that Scott is in prison still and I could no longer go on with my life as if he never existed.
You are an innocent man and I knew that when you were convicted. I am sorry for forgetting about you Scott. It will not happen again and we will donate to help you. It won't be much right now but it will be what I have and I will send more when I can. I will keep on sending money too. God bless you and keep you strong.
Have you guys considered making a facebook group with updates, etc? It could function in a similar fashion to this website and could be a great way to bring in donations.
All the best.
I mentioned this a while ago. I agree it would be a good idea.
I wish you well Scott. I have to say, reading the information on this site has made my disappointment in the court system stronger. I found the site while working on a paper for college about the death sentence. I am ashamed of the degree I have worked so hard for because it is in support of the criminal justice system, which usually does not work. How sorry I feel for those wrongfully convicted who do not have such support from their families. I believe the efforts from you and your family will pay off in the end, leading you to freedom. If only the investigators could have put in such efforts to finding Laci while she was alive. Keep up your strength and spirits.
I can't believe I'm actually doing this.
I just wanted to tell you that raising money for the appeal isn't the route to take. Look at the trial itself. When one of the jurors "stops deliberating in good faith" it is called a hung jury and results in a mistrial. It is not an excuse to dismiss the juror. In America, the prosecution has to convince 12 out of 12 jurors that the defendant is guilty, not 12 out of 13. Instead of spending time & money on and investigation, keep screaming this fact at the courts. Go to the supreme court if you have to; and force the government into a mistrial where the burden of proof lies on the prosecution. I firmly believe Scott is moral scum; I don't know if he is a murderer or not; but I do know that he was railroaded.
To Anonymous, court don't acknowledge "screaming" at them, and supreme courts (state and federal) accept only cases they choose to hear. If it were that easy, there'd been a lot of yelling and an appeal hearing in some high court long ago!
you said
"I firmly believe Scott is moral scum; I don't know if he is a murderer or not; but I do know that he was railroaded" So given that 50% of marriages have infidelity I guess 50% of the citizens are "moral scum"? Why don't we govern like the Taiban and execute all who have failed to stay faithful to their spouse. 100 million people on death row. Makes great sense!
I remember the part where they dismissed the juror~ And the defense did call for a mistrial, As you can see it is 6 years later and Scott still sits in prison.
Quote "I firmly believe Scott is moral scum".
Really? Alfred Kinsey's famous 1948 survey of American sexual behavior found that seven out of 10 men had cheated on their wives. Other surveys give numbers from 20% to 80% (methodology seems to be key here, however who would claim to be an adulterer if he was not one?) A tiny list (some are 'alleged') - Air Force Gen. Joseph Ralston (Vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff). Albert Einstein. Albert Pirro (Husband of Westchester D.A. Jeannine Pirro). Army Maj. Gen. John Longhouser (Head of the Aberdeen Proving Ground) Bernard Kerik (Former NYPD Commissioner - and almost Secretary of Homeland Security). Bill Clinton. Bill O'Reilly (or did he just try?) Bob Barr of Georgia (GOP representative and pro-life conservative whose wife said her husband paid for her abortion, and then took on a mistress). Bob Dole. Brad Pitt. Burt Reynolds. Charlie Sheen. Clarence Darrow (famous lawyer). Dan Burton, Indiana Republican, disclosing that he had an extra-marital affair with an Indiana woman and had a son with her in the early 1980s. David Vitter ((R) Louisiana senator fundamentalist moralist and promoter of abstinence education) with prostitutes David Westin (President of ABC News) Deal W. Hudson (publisher of the Roman Catholic journal Crisis, a strict anti-abortion and anti-gay paper) Des Park (husband of Kiri Te Kanawa) Eddie Fisher. Eddie Murphy. Eliot Spitzer ((D) governor of New York State with a $5,000 hooker after prosecuting prostitution rings as attorney general). Eric Benet (husband of Halle Berry - this should end all arguments). Errol Flynn. Ethan Hawke, whose marriage to Uma Thurman was dissolved despite his claims he may not have committed adultery. Frank Gifford (husband of Kathie Lee). Garner Ted Armstrong (Worldwide Church of God). Gary Condit. Gary Hart. ... And so on - and on!
Anyone who has looked at the evidence knows that Scott was guilty of only one thing: infidelity. They did not prove murder. The media only represented what they wanted to show to the viewers, but what about the rest? How many innocent people sit on death row awaiting execution? I watched " The Life of David Gale ", and it just goes to prove, that anyone can point the finger and say you are the one, but let the facts speak...the facts folks.
I've read this sight probably a hundred times. I've also read the transcripts. I believe 100% that Scott is innocent. When a husband/wife is missing or killed, the authorities tend to automatically hone in on the spouse. I hate that they don't take the time to consider the possibility that it wasn't the spouse. And this is the result of it. There was no evidence against Scott, in my opinion. Yeah, he had an affair, big deal. And yes, he lied about the affair and lied to Amber, but who really cares. There is a gigantic difference between someone who tells a lie or two and someone who murders their spouse and unborn child. I've lied before, but I've yet to murder anyone. I pray that Scott gets the real justice he deserves.
I can't even begin to imagine the stress this family has endured, yet you keep pushing forward and I admire you for that. I'm sure you will never stop until Scott is free. Hats off to you all!
To the Peterson Family,
I am trully amazed on how well you are doing with all of the legal issues that follow this case. Scott truly is blessed to have such wonderful support in his corner and i am glad that i can be a part of that too! it is really sad that we have an innocent man sitting in prison when he could really be out here with those who love him..I will never stop believing in him. Thank you to the family for sharing this information with us as well. god bless you all, Scott we are here for you always!
I recently read a book written by Matt Dalton, a defense lawyer who worked briefly on Scott's case, it raised doubt in my mind as to whether or not he did it.
I believed, based on information I got from the media, that Scott was guilty. This book presented to me enough reasonable doubt to acquit Scott and it absolutely astonishes me that he was convicted. The prosecution must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Scott did this horrific act, and Im not so sure they succeeded in this.
We need to get him out! This money being raised for Scott is only a fraction that he will be awarded when he is released. I know I am going to give, When we all come together anything is possible. I will be watching this very closely.....
The more I read about this case, the more I realize how screwed up the Modesto Police and media are. Our justice system relies on an "innocent until proven guility" mentality. Sadly, Scott never got that. The most disgusting character in this case is Modesto Detective Brochinni. This man strikes me as an extremely poor law enforcment official (that's a nice way of putting it). He didn't like Scott, and was determined to pin him to this horrific crime. He was willing to ignore evidence to the contrary and other leads (that may have saved Laci and Conner) to pursue his own agenda. This "detective" is the true criminal!
I'm just a regular citizen, but I can't let go of this case. This is such a perversion of justice. Hang in there Scott.
I agree with you, Dalton's book is spot on.
It really seems that so many people exploited this case and Scott to gain their "15 seconds of fame" regardless of the credibility of their allegations. We need to be vocal in our support of Scott and use grassroots methods (facebook, twitter, blogs) to spread the message! People need to hear the facts.
Hi Cindi it is great to have another fully engaged member on Scott's team. I went to your website and loved it and encourage others to do the same. I have never been involved in a matter so important and it is great to have someone like you to keep all of Scott's supporters realize that we are going to prevail despite the efforts of the media to stop us. THANK YOU CINDI
I was reading Dalton's book on vacation a few months back. The lady next to me at the beach was in my face in a heart beat about how guilty Scott was and how crazy I was.
When we actually started talking about the case....the only thing she could back up was that Scott had an affair. I have only read bits and pieces of Anne Birds book....and truly feel that she traded in her brother Scott for fame. Lynne
I just read matt daltons book and boy did that police staton screw up how could you miss so much crtucial evidence it is so sad that our justice system is like this I think everyone was out to get scott based on his affair and his odd behavior but everyone reacts differently. Good luck to you guys I cannot afford much but will send something to help scott be a free man as he should be.
Something never sat right with me about how Scott was convicted. I just couldn't believe that the prosecution, and media were attacking his character while completely ignoring the evidence.
Now that I have read the evidence on this website as well as others, I just know he is innocent. This isn't my quote, but it rings true: If one innocent person is in chains, no one is free. I don't think I could live with myself if I didn't do my part to free and exonerate an innocent man. God bless Scott and his family. Sending help and love. Zach
Hi Scott, I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday! It sucks you have to be behind bars. I pray for you and your family everyday I know in my heart Scott you will be a free man real soon! Laci and Conner are looking down on you from heaven just have faith. Scott your time is coming.
Rhonda
Wishing Scott a belated Happy Birthday. Hope he was able to see the family.
Peterson Family,
My heart goes out to your family. Scott has been in my thoughts, almost daily, for years. I was in law school at Georgia State University when Laci was murdered and during the subsequent trial. Up to that point, I thought I would be a career prosecutor. I followed every single day of this trial and was horrified of what I saw. I was just getting my feet wet as a part of the criminal justice system and I watched the sad end of a sorry trial when Scott was convicted. I do believe strongly that Scott is factually innocent but have always thought, on the oft-chance, he is guilty of murder that his trial was a sham. I am now a criminal defense attorney in Georgia and plan to be one the rest of my career. I think about Scott's case daily and defend him to family and friends. I have yet to find someone who doesn't think I am nuts for defending him. I will continue to try and persuade opinion one by one and will continue to hold out hope that one day Scott will walk out of death row as a free man. If he does ever get out of prison, I would like to come to Modesto, shake his hand and buy him a beer. No person in my life has had a more profound impact on my career choice than Scott. I wish him the best of luck in his appeal and hope that justice is finally served. Sincerely, Mike Jacobs
Mike,
Thank you for your note. It is comforting for us to know that you (and others) see what a travesty the trial was, and know that Scott is innocent. We are looking forward to the day that he is exonerated and returns home to us. Please continue to spread your knowledge of his trial and send people to our website to read the articles and the trial transcripts and they too will know that a huge injustice has been placed on Scott. I will send him your letter, he will be happy to know that he help you in your law career path. Susan Caudillo
Has anything new happened yet? I know you won't want to show your hand for the prosecution to see and counter with their half truths, but please keep us updated on how Scott and you all are doing. By the way, this is great news. Hang in there, someting good will come from all of this.
I too am guilty of forgetting. Unfortunately we all get caught up in our own lives and forget that there is someone who is still suffering. I was led to this site by a random purchase of a book (I will NOT promote it by naming it) that condemmed Scott & made the case against him. In reading the book I was repeatedly made aware of how personal opinions can color a situation to look one way or another. I looked your site up to hear the other side. I am sorry that Scott was convicted for not acting in a manner that others felt was appropriate. I felt all along that fingers were pointed too soon and without sufficient evidence. I will keep him in my thoughts & prayers. I will also contribute to his cause as soon as I am financially able. Stay strong.
I am sealing the envelope now for my donation. I just came into a large inheritance and I from the beginning have thought Scott was innocent. Please except my $ 5000.00 donation to help in freeing a T R U E I N N O C E N T M A N !!! Please keep me in the loop because I will and can continue to help so that one day we can see Scott home with his family and friends. Scott is lucky to have family like yourselves to help him. I hope my donation helps !!
I think that everyone agrees that what happened to Laci and Connor is a terrible tragedy. I also completely believe that what happened to Scott Peterson is completely wrong and NOT based on anything but public inflammation of the case. I am very well versed in criminal proceedings and the law in general. If I were a juror I would NEVER have convicted this man of this crime. These jurors are unfortunately just another example of being "media" fed and basing the conviction on "feelings" and "emotions". This happens way too often in America and I am CONVINCED that there have been HUNDREDS of wrongfully executed prisoners since the death penalty was re-instated 35 years ago. The rules of law are actually quite simple....if the jurors believe without a doubt that given the evidence presented the defendant is guilty then they should vote as such. However, if there is ANY reasonable doubt, ANY then they must either convict on a lesser charge, or even better they must acquit. There was more doubt in this case than almost ANY I have studied over the past 25 years and the jurors in MHO are the real "criminals" here, and of course ANYONE who helped manufacture so called "evidence" against this man. I am CONVINCED that under appeal Scott's ridiculous verdict will be reversed and a new trial ordered. Keep the faith and best wishes to you and your family.
I am praying for everyone involved in this case. I will be sending in $200 asap. Stay strong.
