Thank you for all the birthday cards you sent to Scott. We are grateful for your continued support. As we are experiencing the beginning of Fall, it brings with it all the holidays we shared with Scott and Laci in our home.

Day to day there is something to fondly remember their visits and how playful they were. Our grandchildren couldn't wait to see them because they brought the "fun times". Laci would often bring me a small item she made for the house, like picture frames with shells or pieces of beach glass glued to them. Sometimes she would bring something she read about or saw on Martha Stewart. We talked about recipes, while others watched sports or tossed the football. We were one big family enjoying our precious time together.

We are so grateful for your prayers and thoughtful comments, prayers and encouragement. It continues to give us hope that we will soon all be together again. We thank God daily for you in our lives.

Scott's birthday...

Today is Scott's Birthday, he is 36. Scott was only 30 when Laci and Conner were abducted. Today is a sad day for our family and Scott's supporters. It is sad that we can't celebrate Scott's birthday and it's sad that we can't celebrate with Laci and Conner on their birthdays. That is Scott's real loss. Conner would have been 5 this year. Conner was so real to us, we had seen his little face in the ultrasound pictures.

All I can think about today is the injustice that's been done to my son. It is a real disservice to the memory of Laci and Conner. How could this happen? I look forward to when we can celebrate with Scott for all the birthdays he has missed.

Last week I saw...

Last week I saw through my window a neighbor working in his yard. He is an older man and he was hauling sod in his wheel barrow on a very hot day. My first thought was that Scott would go help him, but then I realized Scott wasn't here. If he were, Scott would have gone right out the door to help without being asked. That has always been his way. He and Laci were always eager to help someone out. I admired how they lived, how they shared in everything and how many thoughtful things they did for their friends, neighbors and their community. They had such fun together.

Each Night

Each night, when I put my head on my pillow, my thoughts go to Scott's little family; Scott, Laci and Conner. I can hardly bare it. I think how hard it is for Scott to fight for his own life after the shock and pain of losing his family. I remember the early Christmas we shared with Scott & Laci in 2002, leaving them on the 20th of December. I think of all Scott & Laci's hopes and dreams they shared with us, and their plans for having Conner and watching him grow.

Our family misses her so much. We all loved her like a sister and daughter and we were looking forward to having Conner in our lives the next year. It is so sad.

We thank all of you for your continued support, for recognizing this injustice. To sleep, I turn to God. I thank him for getting us through one more day and I ask him to bless and protect Scott and all his supporters.
